Well Dragon is keeping up the standards with its instructions, bloody shame because this kit cost 45€.
and there are no magic tracks,(old school cut from sprue
and clean up the eject points),no metal barrel
Paul

Yeah Paul I know what you mean but we keep buying the kits so they wont change
I had progress today most of the top have is complete

For those who are interest, I just got this little beauty in the mail today. I think it will be my next project once I’m finished with the IT-1.

This kit is really nice, comes with a partial interior for the driver and a full gun. Beyond that no other parts are included for the interior which is a real shame. But easy to overlook with all the other great features in the kit. Nice to have at least one Hungarian tank on the market from a mainstream company, not to mention the Toldi being release by HobbyBoss. Another thing is, the kit comes with a clean print of the box art so it can be framed.

I think that is a wicked project there!

A real mean and nasty tank destroyer.

Yes it has a lot of parts, but the level of detail is also very good. Fit is yet to be seen........

John,

I partially built this kit. Actually the Testors L/70 kit which is a rebox of Italeri, I recognize the sprues. I did have some fit issues with the hull and fenders. Also some of the details, especially the engine grilles, are not so good. Honestly, I did not enjoy the build much, partly because I did not catch the fender issue (rookie mistake) until it was too late. I have no doubt you will have better luck.

I'm still on the fence about what to build, I have a Sturer Emil, Academy Hetzer, several rolling sIG33's, etc. Too many choices and too many campaigns.

Nate

Nate thanks a lot for the info! I'll try to do my best. It is supposed to be a new tooling but we'll see.... If you would like an opinion on what to build, mine would be the Hetzer. I want to get my hands on the Academy Hetzer my self as soon as it gets here. Lots of potential with this tank destroyer...

@ Christopher i envy you. (In a good way). That Zrinyi looks just great! Looking forward to see it built!
@ Sal it looks very good. Dragon has to work on her instruction sheets very hard! I don't like them either.

Watcha everyone,
great building going on here, hope your meeeting problems
like I am , but more on that in a bit.
@ Christopher: if the devil was travelling around europe in 40`s he would have chosen that vehicle as his horse. It´s
just evil looking.
@ Sal: coming along nicely, neat and clean build. Are you sure you´ve used any glue ?
@ John: I didn´t know Testors made kits, I just recognised
your´s as Italeri. Nice kit all same.
Now to my report:
The Barrel was not true so I had to sort it with some brass
rod

and fill the gap with thinned putty

Then I made the etch radio frame, 1 of 14 pieces of etch

Put the gear box and final drives together, with radio frame

Did some work on the engine deck and added some bolts to air intake

And then disaster, just do not follow the damned instructions

the radio frame and attachment points to the fire wall are at least 4mm to high. Hope I can get the frame off in one piece.

Thanks guys, figure everyone would like to see it since it hasn’t hit here in the states yet. I’ve also just found out that bronco plans to release the 75mm armed version next. Too me the tank almost looks like an Italian semovente on steroids.

I’ll probably start building it later this week once I begin painting my IT-1. I tend to build another model on top of one that is in the painting stages just to keep myself busy. Keep up the good work everyone.

Hey guys thanks for all the positive comments and trust me there is so much glue on this thing that I'm hoping that the primer holds it together
@ Paul nice work with that PE and the barrel repair
@ Chris, that is a cool looking kit there I'm gonna have to try and find 1 of those
Well here is todays progress
Photobucket
Top of the hull and road wheels are dry fit for the photo op
Photobucket
I'm gonna hold off on doing the side mesh armor for when I have some peace in the house being that Marc had so much problems with his on the PzIV he did for the Dragon Campaign and that the instructions just make it so clear as to how it should go on
Photobucket
So thats it for now I just shot it with primer and it might sit like that for a while I have a busy next few days Well busy for a retired person

Well, without sounding "strange"... yummy!

I have the original release in my stash and have always wanted to build it but heard it's filled with problems.

So, I'm thinking of getting another kit to use as spare parts just in case. But yours looks good!

My apologies to everyone out there, I´ve just seen what I wrote last night and that is definatly not what I meant.
It should read "NOT meeting problems like I am"

@ Sal: do you sleep or do anything else with your free time,
or do you just hammer out these builds as if to say "hey modelling industry, you must speed up your output, I´m catching up with you guys" ? Great build all the same,
but I think the tracks will slow you up a bit. That might
give us others a chance to catch up.

Hey Sal,
How'd the scurzen mounts go for you? Do you also have to put pieces on the fenders?
I broke those mounts off so many times it isn't funny.
I'm looking forward to see your progress.
I have thought about getting that kit you are building, but now that i see the details, i might just

RUN AWAY!!!!

Good luck.

Thanks Phill. It's not a cost thing (plus I do not subscribe) I just don't like to see it get wasted and recycling around here... that is not a curb-side collected item as you must take it elsewhere.

The last time I did the newspaper thing here a few weeks ago my Mother In-Law took the paper.

My workbench is such a mess as the newly assembled booth dominates most of the free room. So, I'll snap a shot of them inside it and then let the assembling begin!

One of the reasons i don't bother with that date thing is finding that damn paper ..i don't get them ..i dont read them and finding one is a pain in the ass so why bother ?
Wasting $2.50 just for a pic and date ..not worth it .

Jon ... nice choose man .. very not bad kit ..I built the Porsche suspension version ..man those tracks took ages to build ,,not doing that again
Will be watching this build ..I like the Hunting Tiger

You're so right Phill. Holy crap! $2.50? YIKES!!

Show's ya how long it's been for me buyin' a paper!

Jon is loaded for bear with his Jagdtiger, huh!
Probably the most expensive TD here!

Hello there,
yet another problem with my Pak 43 Waffenträger, I´m begining to really hate this thing if it
wasn´t so damned expensive it would be in the bin by now.
But I aint givin´ up yet
Check the red marking, that gap is 2mm, hello this is a NEW
kit, what the are Dragon doing?

@Jon: nice choice, if I may add a word of advice:
the tracks from HB are really cool looking, nice and chunky
but make sure you have jig to work against when assembling them because they will wonder to right or left, depending on which way you work and don´t use "Mr Cement limonene Type"
because the dredded track shrinkage will get you.

Gee Paul, sorry for the bad luck but hang in there.

This serves as a warning for future purchases for the rest of us but there's always the fudge factor... just remember that.

FUDGE FACTOR #78 ~ If it don't fit, bend it to fit or TOSS IT!
