Jose the tracks in the kit have really get detail on them and fit well around the drive sprocket. But linking each track together is not the best. They has some fit issues, some have tight fit and others are loose. I prefer to work with indy tracks, but if I can get my hands on workable set, I will.

Wow looks like everyone is off to a real nice start here with some super tank killers out there
Well here is my start photo taken this morning
Photobucket
I surprised myself and made some room on the bench to start it this afternoon Photobucket
If you dont like doing all the work on those PzIV wheels this kit is not for you 75 pieces there and I see they have you make 1 more later on near the end
Photobucket
Rear plate is done as well that concludes step 4 more tomorrow

Well, I must re-think my selection(s) because both of my kits are considered artillery, the Trumpeter Geschutzwagen IVb and the DRAGON le.FH18/40/2(sf) auf G.W.Pz.Kpfw.III/IV.

They are self-propelled guns but in the Operational Overview it says it must be "anything built to kill tanks" and these don't do that.

I rejected and disqualified the idea of the Jagdpanzer IV as a StuG, even though it is a vast misnomer as being called one, it's no different than the Hetzer debacle on being misnamed but really is a 38(t) Jagdpanzer. The E-10 and the E-25 are the real Hetzers.

But rules are rules and I'll try to find something else. Too bad as most SPG's are not tank destroyers. MAN... that le.FH18/40/2(sf) auf G.W.Pz.Kpfw.III/IV cost almost 60 bucks too!!

@Sal

Great choice, I was considering that same kit but I picked the Tristar one, anyway I will be following your build closely.
Pz IV wheels are great...

@Jeff
Some sweet kits you got there Jeff.
Waiting to see your choice then.

Here's my update on the Emil:

OK just to get my plans straight: This not "SPG and tank killers". This is "SPGs that are made to be tanks killers".
So a Grille (carrying a 105mm field piece) would not be eligible either, would'nt it?
Looking forward to a clarification!
Cheers,
Guido

I also worked on the exaust.
Glued the 2 parts and added a coat of Mr.Surfacer to give some texture. It will a rusted exaust.

Nice projects going on in this campaign... I'm under the impression though that we are going to have too many Jagdpanzer IVs? Although i'm really itchy to build mine, i thought maybe i should do instead something different, like the Zvezda Panjerjager 1? It's in my stock a long time now and wanted to find an excuse to build it....

Jeff dude .. its the tank destroyer/SPG campaign mate so those two you have chosen are fine ,, a SPG is not a tank Destroyer anyway but this campaign is for both .

OK Amendment to the rules sort off .. the rules state as Jeff said ..anything to kill tanks ..now i cocked up here and forgot to mention ,,,and destroys things at long range .
Hope this clears things up for everybody else as well ,,can't believe i forgot to mention the SPG part .. man i think i'm getting slightly overwhelmed some days ,,thats life for ya i guess

Jeff those two are in bud

I still don't know what to build There's a Panther and an important StuG IV on deck. Maybe I'll buy a Jagdpanzer 38(t). I don't know, all these summer campaigns are catching up with me

Well I’ve completed the turret and have to say the details are not too bad. A little soft in some areas , but it’s the only game in town and will make for a great addition to my collection. I plan to build this kit straight from the box with the only additional parts being replacement tracks.

Depending on how this build goes, I might also build the Hobby Boss 152mm Dana.

Hi Jeff,
please accept my deepest apologies
I did not mean to hurt your feelings and I shall never
connect you to a "I can´t decide" disease again. It
still doesn´t change the fact that I still have not made

Hi there,
I have just got in from work, and found this on my way home.
I have decided.
The build will commence tomorrow as it´s 35° here, which means I´m going to the allotment to- Quote Odddball- " catch some rays, drinking wine and eating cheese man"

Who me? NEVER! Us Americans do have thicker skin that THAT!

So you found the Waffentrager "on the way home" huh? That's a fairly new kit to have just laying around like a discarded tissue paper. Or do you mean you discovered it at the Hobby Store?

Good choice!

Jeff, I bet it was just on the sidewalk near some old newspaper. It's the usual place for WaffenTrager's here in Europe...

Paul & Jeff I'm looking forward to see your builds starting !
Paul has the Olymic Spirit as an excuse I know..
