Hi all, hope X-mas was cool for you all.

@John: hi dude thatīs bad news on that Leo, Iīd of thought it would be better than that being a newish kit, but youīll master it, I have no fear.

@Greg: lovely Puma mate, now give her a cool paint job.

@Don: I built the Revell KT along time ago, let me know how this babe goes together.

@Rodolfo: cool choice from Tiger family.

@Sal: there you go speeding of in front again, shame you haveīnt gotten the decals because I canīt wait to see that
paint job weathered.

Well hereīs my progress and the Revell I know turned up again. The fit of the missile launchers and the spare ammo box was awefull, the same can be said for the smaller parts
like MG, smoke dischargers, lights, and launcher to hull.
Well if you want to get annoyed then buy one, if not leave it be.

Iīll try to get the running gear on tomorrow, but the way that looks it might take a while.

Sal - the Tiger camo looks good but goodluck with Luckymodel backorders

Paul- you'd never know the problems looking at your kit because you got it together good now. Keep on tanking

John - AFV CLub kits are very nice and among my favorites

Here I have added stripes to the Puma with Tamiya colors

@Greg

I like those camo colours & stripes !

Here's my progress so far:

I noticed that the ATAK Zimm set as 2 options for the turret Zimmerit:

Still undecided on which to pick.. here's another look on the pattern

Turret WIP

But that ATAK Zimm set had some canvas cover for the main gun and MG

I also noticed the detailed texture on the AFV Club turret, very nice .. too bad it will be covered with Zimm..

The Metal gun barrel came with the kit.

Stay tuned ! Back to the bench !

John are you building a specific Tiger? Most late tigers had the bigger pattern zimmerit but the small pattern was seen on some ..

Sal..I checked the Bison site and the set is no longer on their site ..I sure hope you can find that set.

Rick, I will try to post the scheme / unit number of the AFV sheet, I'm still not sure about which one to pick.
I like both the Zimm sets...

I know ... research ...

okay so here's what I got so far ...007 is Michael Wittmans last ride and it has the big pattern zimmerit but is a command tank .
233 I haven't found a picture yet but all the pictures of the tigers of 510th have the small type zimmerit so I would say small pattern for that one.
As for A12 I think it is the biggger pattern zimmerit but it is really hard to tell from the picture I have ..Maybe David or someone else has a better copy to be sure ..

hope this helps

A while ago I was asking what the small triangles were for that were on each sprue for my hobby boss tracks for the Jagd. Tiger. I eventually realised they were ice sprags. They fit into the small holes at the edges of the tracks and placed on every 3-5 link. With the triangle facing down thus increasing the traction of the tracks. That took a while to figure out, whew!

I whitewashed my Early Tiger using AK Chipping Fluid which worked pretty well.I figured that anything white in the field wouldn't stay white long,so I applied Mig Productions "Cold Gray Wash" to tone down the white, and Mig Productions "Brown Dirt for White Camo" Filter to dirty it up a bit.I like the results.I still have more detail weathering and painting to do and perhaps some pigments. So I think it looks okay, any thoughts ? Thanks for sharing

Well I’ve decided to join up on this campaign and build a Norwegian Leopard 1A5. This kit has been sitting in my storage shed for awhile to the point were the kit decals no longer exist on the carrier film. Gives me a good reason to finally build the tank. I have a range of goodies to use from PSM, Eduard, and HK Creation to enhance the model.

Hello friends! Nice works in this Group

@ Paul.- Thanks, your Revell armor is nice too!.

Well, I started the Tiger. Will be an Out of Box except for one addition as grills

Despite being a somewhat veteran kit, the pieces has been well fixed. Only I made a little adjust in the rear part, good detail.

Regards!

@John: your zimmerit on that Tiger is looking real mean mate. Was it hard to apply, I know this sheet stuff can be brittle?

@Greg: now for some sweet weathering dude.

@Anthony: the weathering on that Tiger looks awesome, keep it up.

@Christopher: nice choice on the Leo, I also have that kit I shall be watching how it goes together.

@Jeff: lovely detail on the inside there, it just a shame you canīt see much when shes done.

@Rodolfo: nice start mate

Hereīs my progress, got the camo on, and tomorrow itīs gloss and decals:

Oh yes, Revells instructions state you can glue the tracks
with normal glue. Donīt try it, it donīt work, you need CA
glue

Thanks Paul !
No it wasn't that hard, after some sandpaper and clean up, just applied some glue, I used some CA glue, but on a previous SturmTiger I used Tamyia's glue, it worked too.

Yout small Revell kitty is turning out great despite the issues you mentioned.

Paul, I hate to hear the kit has issues. I plan on building an Ozelot for the Anti-Aircraft Campaign.

@Alex: as you are a professional you shouldnīt have too many problems with Ozelot. I advise however the use of files and some filler. When you do the running gear
fix the wheels to the attachment arms first and then fix these to the hull.

@Sal: the Ozelot is about the size of a family saloon car,
4.5 meters long 4100 Kg heavy and brings 110ps. Itīs used by the Bundeswehr as an AA tracked vehicle. It carrys 4 Stinger or Igla missiles, they should sort out the parking problems at the mall.

Thanks Paul. I made a note in the kit instructions. I figured the AFV parts of the kit would be pretty strong.

Jeff - that Puma is looking great inside. Does it have the ammo storage too. I'm curious about that and guessing the rounds are in the hull middle?

Rodolfo - happy surprises are good - good to see older kits build just fine

Paul - your camo is awesome!!! I like that you choose to have the missles in the lowered position as I didn't know it could do that

Sal - glad to hear you have a backup plan. I've been waiting over a month for a couple kits that were in stock at Luckymodel. I have a love/hate relationship with that place.

My Puma has decals and will start weathering now. I wish I had painted the storage before doing the gloss coat so I could weather it all at once now live and learn
