Thanks Wayne for the help. I’m actually going to scratch build new fenders from plastic and use the dragon parts as templates. I’m rebuilding the Sherman as a mid production Sherman II used by A SQN GGHG in Italy in 44, so I have to make some changes to the basic kit. One reason why I can’t use the supplied photo etch fenders.

Mateusz - good color tones on your last Sherman. Look forward to the next.
Sascha - welcome back to modelling after 20 year break. My Jumbo is in 1/48 using a Hobby Boss Kit M4A3/76, Tamiya tracks, and a Faxon Jumbo conversion. My build starts on page 12. Squadron has the 1/48 Hobby Boss kits for $13 again right now. Enjoy your Jumbo build.

Hi there,
here´s my two kits that I need. I´m using the hull and running gear from the Italeri M4A1, a set of AFV Club M4 T62
chevron tracks and the turret from the Dragon kit
to produce this:
If anyone has anymore details on this initial M50 I would be very thankful if you would share them , I only have this one foto.

Hi Mike, Hi Jeff,
thanks for the tips, but I´ve done those already and didn´t
see anything there
Maybe I´m blind and over saw something, but that turret and
hull combo seem to be extremly rare. There´s plenty of M1´s
in there with the unmodified US config (Tamiya) but not of the initial M1 Israeli production with the new turret and gun combo.
Well here´s where I´m at now, I love these old kits you can just throw em together:
I had some Academy road wheels and Tamiya sprockets that I´ve used because they´re better detailed, and an Academy 30
cal from their MG set:
That´s all for tonight, I´m nackered I feel like a stinker
of cold is coming on.

Ok, since I'm not sure the status of my T52 build just yet, I'm going to launch into my M36B1 build. Just cleared it with Jeff. I'm going to use the Academy M36 kit, Tamiya M4A3 upper hull and some details, Bronco T48 tracks (on order), and whatever else I want to toss in...
By the way, anyone need a Verlinden early M4 turret with M34 mantlet? Got one available for trade for other Sherman goodies.
Jon

I see a lot of kitbashing going on
I will be using the hull and running gear from the Tamiya kit with the turret(if you can call it that)and boom ect. from the Italeri kit not sure on tracks yet.
I started cutting the road wheels in half so I can make them with detail on both sides but found it is faster to just sand them down with my Permagrit sander.
Cheers Rob.

Jeff,
Yes, years ago I picked up the Tamiya M4A3E2 kit for a real good price(I bought 5 ) then I found out about the issues with that kit. So now I have 5 M4A3 hulls without turrets, I am trying to mix and match so I`m not just building a bunch of M4A3`s
I will use the M4A3 hull for the recovery vehicle an M32B3 and that will leave an M4A1 hull.
Sorry if a bit long winded.
Cheers Rob.

I have been moving right along. The actual build is fairly mundane. It will be all the add ons unique to a Marine Sherman that will become exciting.
Here's what I'm talking about. Track links as add on armor.
For the hull sides.
For the glacis.
I did run into one anomaly, the rear plate had a strange gap when in position. I used some scrap sheet and covered the hole.

Looking great guys!
I should return to some modeling this week, now that my drama for the month has passed.
Lots of awesome builds going on here, most of which are some pretty good kit bashing.

Hi
I am building an Israeli M4A4T, that I started on Saturday, 5th of January. I am using the Tasca Sherman V kit with a Formations resin engine deck and some spare parts from other Sherman kit. I was unable to post any since due to unforeseen events, and I can't post to Campaign album until later.
Here are some photos of the build.
Here are the sqaure air filter I used off the Tasca M4A1 kit.
I used the spare track link from Tamiya's M1 Super-Sherman.
And I also used the rear shelf from the same kit.
I move the exhast from normal position to the middle to make room for the air filters.
Here is the air filters installed, I also have the rear shelf and one of the track block put on.

So far I have to say that I'm more then impressed with the number of detailed, and modified builds going on. Excellent work guys. I'm almost ashamed to post progress pictures of my basically OOB M4 Composite Hull PTO I just started last night, as I decided to put down my Tasca M32B1 for a while.

Don't feel that way Joel, not all of us can use 2 kits for one build!
Every build here is as important as the next so jump on in and start swimming! Even though I do not have the electronics yet, my build will involve a lot of modifications and... CUTTING!
