The title describes it all. One of my favorite tanks of all time.
Let's set it to begin January 2013 and run for 6 or 8 months.
SHERMANS ONLY!! No derivatives of the M4 chassis like an M10 or M36 (B1 or B2) no M3's either so don't ask ... it's pretty simple. M32 will work and that's about it as it is a modified SHERMAN. Any SHERMAN variety, any scale, any War, and any country.

No "What If's" or fantasy tanks, must have been built or as a documented prototype (photo proof) AND cannot be started at all!!
Scratch building very much encouraged and any manufacturer is allowed.
Did I leave anything out? Any questions? Time frame good?
So, let's do it?

Do you really have to ask if there is interest for Sherman campaign?
Next January sounds great, and please 8 months. I know I'll need it

You have to love a place that is planning builds 6 months in advance
Ok with that said, Paul ran a Sherman campaign in July 2010 that ran for a year that had over 100 people enlist

However all types of Shermans were allowed, M-7 Priest, M-10's and HVSS Chassis

which I have been wanting to build
So with that said I really had fun with my last Sherman build and would like to build another one but dont have any in the stash, but I have 6 months to get 1. So before I buy 1 would a HVSS Sherman be acceptable here

Hey Sal, not even a question. The HVSS is just as much a SHERMAN chassis as the VVSS is/was.
It must be a T-23 or a Low or High Bustle turret and can use the Israeli modified tanks and that's it. Pure SHERMAN tanks, no Priests, no nothing but SHERMANS. Anything else is not a SHERMAN but something else mounted on a SHERMAN chassis.
Must not be any concept tank unless it was a prototype (with photo documentation) and no Egyptian modified tanks with their AMX 13 turret on a M4A4 chassis.
Purty simple I tink! Yup, yup!

So basically Sherman gun tanks. Cool, I'm in. Been itching to build a post-war Canadian M4A2 76mm HVSS for a while.

My understanding is that the short range radio arieal is bent at the elbow & that the long range is with a fully extended arm lol
Sorry mate couldn't resist lol

I know that some Shermans have two ,,one on the turret and one on the hull but the Sherman i'm building has only the one and since the guys on here are as pedantic as hell on Shermans i needed to know the right height for that aerial,,now thanks to Jeff i do know .. 104mm

Did you say 104mm???
Mmmm that must be micro wave!!!

So seems we maybe entering the world of to put it politely rivet counting how far apart should the holes for the return roller arms be from each other & how far down the "Face" should they be??
I am now humming & harrahing about doing an old fashioned 3-4 way kit bashing.

Hey Jeff,
Just completed a deal for this Sherman
http://www.scalehobbyist.com/manufacturers/Dragon_Models/Military_Vehicles/DML00006325/product.php?s=0&t=2,4&micr=16&pg=1&ppp=24&sb=stocknumber&so=a&era=6&ct=1&sc=35&man=dml
It will be my 1st Dragon Sherman, I did an Academy M-10, and an Italeri and Tamiya Sherman, but never a Dragon 1. So I'll be ready to roll when this campaign gets approved

I hear ya, most overdone to say the least. Your choice will be very nice!
I still want the final version with the HVSS in 1/16th, only because I can battle the tank in the "HEAVY" classification then. I have all the parts just need to have some decals made for me. I even have T66 tracks in metal!

It'll be my 4th 1/16th RC SHERMAN.
