Yep, two lower hulls, no upper hull in the box.

Does DragonCare include Cyber-Hobby products? I guess they would be the best place to get the missing upper hull.

Okay gentlemen here's my entry into the triple A arena. Only about half of the kit will be used due to this being the old tamiya kit.

If you're adding aftermarket parts, those must be shown at the start as well.

Looks like we should have named this the Duster Campaign!

Don't have the money right now for aftermarket stuff. I will be scratchbuilding 90% of the details that is going into this one.I wanted to take on a serious challenge. The only thing I want to add is a set of friulmodel track but again I will have to wait for the money to become available. Can I add a pic once I recieve them and still qualify? Added to which, this one will be Bundeswher, not U.S.

Starter pictures. It's Revell's 1/35 Wiesel 2 LeFlaSys "Ozelot".

I plan on doing this one OOB. I need to get some other things caught up before I start.

Great kit but some of the detail is over simplified. I had fun with it though and I hope you do too!!!

Here is my projekt the Krupp 5.5cm Flakzwilling. When the original flakzwilling was proposed with 37mm, Waprüft 6 and Heerseswaffenamt thought that the size of the gun did not effectively use the panther platform. Thus they suggested to up-size the gun to Rheinmettal-Borsig's 5.5 cm Flakzwilling 58 Rh DV 3. Some do say that this is the predecessor to the further A.A. armoured development. As you can see, hopefully I am using the Accurate Armour conversion along with Aber barrels, E.T. photo-etch and Tamyia's S.L.track. This is another semi started kit that was purchased at my friends store for a decent price. The idea is to suggest that the tank was returned to be refurbished and taken to be used for the Flakzwilling projekt. Thus the hull is to be painted in a late war red primer base with camo added. Turret in engineer's mock-up setting. Should be colourful.

On a side note I has a missing lower hull for a tiger 1. E-mailed dragon cares, has to jump through a few hoops but I did eventually receive a replacement lower hull.

not started but, on March 3rd 2013, I took the following to show what I will be building (plus sprue shots of the kit, the AM gun barrel). I have some Dragon Pz1a sprues and magic tracks to add as/where the kit detail needs improving

Yes it does. And I've found a profile of the vehicle I want to do. But I don't know the diffrences between the FlaK 37 and 43.

Here's the profile, which is taken from a book which also includes decals.

Hi,

It´s Sunday night and I´m starting my first campaign here in Armorama.

As been told I´ll build Dragon´s Flakpanzer IA. I´m planning to build it OOTB with some exceptions like a metal barrel, some PE buckles and little more. I haven´t decided the scheme yet but not many options here, panzergrey or panzergrey with a winter white wash.

Not sure if I will add some figures, but I think it can be decided later if the campaign rules allow that. Please let me know.

Here´s the starting photo.

Regards.

Raul.

Darren:

Hi! The Flak 36/37 and 37 were actually pretty much the same gun, and both were rather different from the later-war "improved" Flak 43. Flak 43 had a different rear-end and breach assembly (a gas-operated breach) and a different frame / mount, and a much different shield assembly, and a somewhat shorter barrel. It fired faster, and was much lighter and much cheaper to make, than the 36/37 types. All in all, a fairly different gun.

But the best way for most of us modelers to see these differences may be by looking at and comparing the modern Flak 36/37 kits to the current Flak 43 kits.... or pics of these and / or CAD diags of same.

I've toyed with the idea of getting one of those flak-track kits such as you are working - it's a cool-looking monster and my understanding is that there are options in the build... but each time I look at it, I glance back into my "office" and see the pile (stash)! This straightens me out right away

I'll be watching the build and waiting to see what you end up with! PS: There is a nice RB models metal barrel for this gun...

Raul:

Now there's a cool LITTLE kit! I built the original Dragon release - very cool. It did mostly go together very nicely - the gun is of course Dragon's well-done Flak 38. It comes with the generally early-version features appropriate to the time this thing was made (late 1941). The only parts I found cumbersome in the orig kit were that modified driver's glacis, which came in the form of a pre-bent PE piece, and the pre-formed catch-basket mesh - which is fundamentally a little wrong. But, once the wrestle was done, it came out looking sharp.

The Premium kit IS a bit improved. It has the same interior (still needing some stuff to get closer to right) but has a styrene glacis (easier to work all those vision-blocks, etc.) and some much nicer "road wheels" with brass-ring details. These are the Bomb when it comes to Pz. 1 wheels. And the trailer has had a good make-over to get the correct larger ammo-box.

I built mine OOTB as it was for a show contest entry. The metal barrel will make some big difference... I'll use one when I build this kit.

While it actually would look nice in the all-gray scheme with suitable dust and dirt, you DO have some options... At least a couple of these ended up getting painted with some dark green over the gray, and they did get that whitewash job come winter (some great pics are around of these). I THINK at least one survived into late 1942 or early 1943 and ended up wearing some dunkelgelb and some camo - green only, I think.

Cheers!

Aloha All: A lot go great kits in the works here.

I, like many others, will be building the AFC Club 1/35th M42A1 Duster, OOTB.

Huge gap between the glacis and upper deck will need to be filled. Also lost one of the drivers hatch hinge mounts to the carpet monster, so will have to scratch that.

Fender and stowage boxes are not glued on yet for easier painting, thus the clothespin props.

Happy Modeling, -zon

Zon, Nice start to your AFV M42A1. Like you, I'm planning on building one for the campaign, but just can't seem to put down my Bronco M24 Chaffee for now. That was my original idea. Naturally, it hasn't worked out that way. Will be following your build with interest.

Nice start Zon !

I was planning to get a Flak-Halftrack, but I got too many builds going on, so I had to go for simple build, maybe when I clear some Campaigns off my bench I might go for a 2nd build here.

Here's my update:

Here are my "proof of life" photos.

I've been waiting months to get this one started, and now I may have to wait another week or two since my wife and I are going on a little trip to visit our daughter. Ah, the sacrifices our hobby has to endure!
