started with my Pz1a - just a couple of steps through on the gun. Replaced the kit barrel with the RB after market one - very nice. and started on the gun housing...

Quoted TextYes it does. And I've found a profile of the vehicle I want to do. But I don't know the diffrences between the FlaK 37 and 43.
Here's the profile, which is taken from a book which also includes decals.
Darren:
Hi! The Flak 36/37 and 37 were actually pretty much the same gun, and both were rather different from the later-war "improved" Flak 43. Flak 43 had a different rear-end and breach assembly (a gas-operated breach) and a different frame / mount, and a much different shield assembly, and a somewhat shorter barrel. It fired faster, and was much lighter and much cheaper to make, than the 36/37 types. All in all, a fairly different gun.
But the best way for most of us modelers to see these differences may be by looking at and comparing the modern Flak 36/37 kits to the current Flak 43 kits.... or pics of these and / or CAD diags of same.
I've toyed with the idea of getting one of those flak-track kits such as you are working - it's a cool-looking monster and my understanding is that there are options in the build... but each time I look at it, I glance back into my "office" and see the pile (stash)! This straightens me out right away![]()
I'll be watching the build and waiting to see what you end up with! PS: There is a nice RB models metal barrel for this gun...

Joel: Thanks for the comments. Enjoy your Chaffee. That kit is certainly on my wishlist. How is it for tiny, finicky pieces?
The Duster has its share. I've salvaged 4 or 5 from the carpet monster, only completely losing the hatch mount so far. There's some careful cleanup required too on some of the smaller pieces, and some are ridiculously small. The instructions have been pretty good and assembly has been not bad. There was an error correction sheet in the box for 4 of the steps. Let me know if you didn't get it and I'll forward to you.
John: Thanks! Nice AA kit you've got there.
Robert: Good start. Nice looking barrel.
Happy Modeling, -zon![]()
Keith, enjoy your trip. I wish that I can say the same. Our 25 year old son still lives with us. I'm semi retiring this Nov, and he's still here!!
Joel
YIKES! I thought WE had it bad. Our soon to be 24 year old daughter is still with us, even though I feel I have done all I can to motivate, encourage and shove my foot... she's still here.
