Just enlisted..lucky number 11 ~~~
The pics of the Maz are unbelievable! Wonder what the big tank type thing between the 2 would be?
Hey Jeff..my Scud is built about the point of the pic above..looks like w/ your skills, could easily build that 5th wheel variant! Just remember..lots of pics!!

Thanks Jeff for the vote of confidence, but I really feel I lack more time and patience than having to conjure up any hidden skills.
I almost bought this deal: https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/197362&page=1 But, I really like the Maz and since we have time I think I'll wait.
In the meantime I'll do what I have the best skills at...
... thinking.

thanks for the link..bought myself a Christmas present!!
The Maz is a really good kit, OOB fit is excellent, and with so amny countries using it, many unique paint schemes are a modellers heaven!
I have one loading the " Long Track " radar system...too bad the kit is WAY out of my budget

What's a "budget"?
For me it's just cash on hand or it's out of the question.

Just checking to confirm that civ tractor/trailer combo's (with the thing that goes bang bang on the trailer) are OK.
UK used a couple of big name heavy haulage companies to move the 'hardware' around.

Cheers
Roger.

Thanks for the link Rob. Just bought the MAZ. Now to figure out what to put on it. I guess I could finish up that Trumpeter ASU-85 for it, since it's going to be a parade vehicle (the ASU) then I could get the MAZ all shined up.

Hi,
I see the Dong Feng was approved, but could the DML Scud be considered as a "Heavy Equipment Transport Vehicle"?

As the TEL stands for TRANSPORTER/Erector/Launcher, I would have to put my vote in the "yes" column. And the SS-1C/SSC-1B/SS-N-2D would definitely classify as heavy.

Andrew,
Yes that is fine and I would like to see one in the campaign.
I did not catch that sale on the M1070 I may have picked up a second one.
Is that good or bad?
Yes Oct. is coming and I am still waiting for my engine.
Cheers Rob.

Signed up for the campaign, but will have to improve my modelling skills before I start with this one.
Thankfully, there's plenty of time to build it.

I just enlisted as well... will be taking a short cut by doing a 1/72 kit (Revell's Famo) instead of 1/35. *Should* have more than enough time to finish it properly!
Cheers!

When this starts, I think I will sneak in a purchase... as long as the wife unit does not find out the almost 90 dollar negative!

Roger,
I think that those civvy lorries could be moving exhibits to Bovington or wherever the museum was before that. The A39 Tortoise and the Jagdpanther???? give it away.
Certainly interesting that one of the contractors appears to be using an ex-military Diamond-T

Dave,
Both Wynn's and Pickford's used a variety of 'surplus' trucks - Diamond T's, FWD, AEC Matador, Pacific M26, Scammell Explorer & Pioneers etc etc.
Somewhere in one of the Pickford's books it states they had a contract with WD/MoD to move the tanks around the country.
From memory I think the photo of the A39 was taken either going to or coming from it's official trials, must check-up on that.
The last photo is a private contractor (using an ex-Army Scammell Constructor) contracted to move tanks around.
