The only bad thing about those Cents is that they are not sitting on my workbench. Fantastic work and I really look forward to seeing some paint on those beasts.

hi
thank you yes i am proud of them , been wanting to build both for some time and both so different . the Strv 102 is unique as it does not have all the Strv102R conversions update to the hull . but i just love the colour scheme . three tone.
thank you

Hi Erik and Tom
Thank you for your messages and yes i want to finish these off.
had also thought about doing a 1/25 version with a scratch built turret and maybe a new engine deck don't know yet , idea is there , girlfriend is happy same price roughly as a 1/35 kit lol. so i finish these off first and see what she says .
she likes the colours having seen a Strv 104 close up at the tank museum.
i try paint base camouflage coat on this weekend its slightly lighter then my base coat/ primer

painting UPDATE Warning
hi
well i just been looking at the pair of Centurions
and spotted some places which were a bit thin or missing any paint . ok so i got out from my collection of paints a brand new jar of Tamiya XF11 JN green.
bugger the colour is slightly lighter well at least its just the base coat.

hi all
well i have put the base coat on both models . i was advised to use this combination to produce the colour which matched the strv 104 to at Bovington .
dark green I mixed xf26 xf67 xf70
i also painted the track on the Strv 104 in Humbrol 72 buff
Strv 102 i painted track in mat 29 earth.
and life colour tyre black on the wheels
This is just the start two more colours to go
hope you like it ossie

Awesome job on the STRVs. The splinter must be the coolest camo in the world (in my humble opinion) but is a pain for modelers. One think I would like to congratulate you in is that light green. Many tend chose a color that is compared to the dark green looks almost yellow which makes the camo look completely wrong. You seem to have nailed it however! Looking forward to more updates and some weathering!

Super jobb on the painting, Ozzie! Love it! You have really captured the different green tones very well.
Aren't you missing one colour, though, i.e the earth brown parts of the Swedish 4-colour cammo scheme? Or were these two particular vehicles painted in the more recent 3-colour splinter scheme?
Cheers,
Sven

hi
Thank you
towards the end of mech 18 and strv 104 serving in Gotland all went to three tone camouflage , it took thord some time to nail it down but it was correct, if you look on page 1 of the blog Andreas gives the history of the strv 102r.
thank you very much for your kind comments Ossie

I learn new things all the time about Swedish armour :-). The Cents look great in the 3 colour scheme, more modern somehow.
