hi all
STRV 104 IS FINISHED . HERE IT IS .
After taking nearly a year to build and finish ,. it is 99% finish a bit of touching up where i slipped with the silver paint and a tow rope to be added . then a base. it depicts a Strv 104 as if training in Gotland towards the end of there life. i might still put a Flag of 18 mech brigade on the aerial yet.
its based on the AFV CLUBs NATO Centurion and Hobby fans swedish Centurion conversion kit.
i have painted the model in tamiya, vallejo paints also ink washes and faber castell pastel chalks , also some real dust taken off a tank .
thanks go out to Chris jerrett, Thord wedman, david parker and 18 mech Gotland Brigade .
thinking about building it in 1/25 next .
hope you like it .
Ossie

Hi gents,

is the tank equipped with ERA? The pics on Primeportal show only metal plates. While working on STRV 121 and STRV 103, I really considering getting the Hobby Fan conversion.

Hans-Hermann

P.S. Is there a plan for the splinter pattern included in the conversion?

hi hans
there is two types of splinter scheme.
4 tone is the common one
3 tone was used in Gotland from around the time the Swedish army got leopard 2, i do have them some where.
as far as ERA it is plates but i think the era could be bolted under them. looks as if it could
yes the hobby fan get is good . but no plan for camouflage in box
thanks ossie

Hi Ossie,

good to know about the camo pattern. As will contact the Swedish Army, maybe they have the camo patterns still in their archives.

HI Everyone

Here is my completed STRV102R its based on a real vehicle Strv 102R 80406. out is now a working vehicle in the Södra Skanska Kamratföreningen P7. museum . but i have painted it as it was when it was last in service .
possible i might build it in 1/25 as well. as it is such a different tank to normal.
i just got to put the yellow registration number on when the dry transfers arrive . But its done for now .

i have to thank the following people , ANDREAS Kirchoff, Thord Wedman. David Parker.

hope you like it .
Ossie

Hi All
Having just finished these lovely Centurions after a year i now wonder what to do as the bases for these two Centurions strv 102 will be on the tank park maybe like in the first picture of this blog and the 104 possible coming down a dusty old track. But i have time to think that one out as these are going to Euro mIlitaire. Don't expect to get anywhere with them but its the joy of letting other people enjoy them.
thanks for your support with in the build and i show you when they are on the bases. thanks to every one. Ossie

Excellent build!

Your finished strvs look great. Also nice and good weathering.
Following your build blog was very interesting.

Cheers

Hi there,

can anybody explain me the differences between the various Swedish Centurions? Is the engine deck in the STRV 104 the same as on the IDF Shot Kal?

TIA

hi Hans
the STRV104 uses the idea of the IDF shot but there is differences, like number of louvers in each deck segment , swedish rear decks lock different to back plate , the hull rear plate is not modified as IDF but they use the WATER tank at the front of the tank area for fuel as well.

strv102 and 102r have many differences along with strv 101

here is some links

Hi Ossie,

thanks for the heads-up, I will read the pages carefully
Once again, I think the modelling community needs the ulti-
mate Centurion book.

Hans-Hermann

P.S. And a set of Swedish military colours.
