Cheers Rich, glad you like it.

I used Vallejo Hull red, dark grey, light grey and added some buff to base cote colour for the chipping. the exhaust was done
with Vallejo Salmon rose, hull red, dark brown and used Mig's rust effect. Once this had dried I dry brushed it with Vallejo pure black and added some graphite from a pencil to finish. Easy

Lower hull weathering, started with using Mig Productions rain marks on the turret and lower hul, about 3 coats works well.
Then started with the pigments on the underside of the sponson
a couple of colours were added and mixed up.

Enjoy folks

Small update, trying to fit in some modelling
around a hectic work routine, so I'm grabbing
10 minutes here and 20 minutes there.

Anyway some progress pictures.

Roadwheels are being painted and weathered at the moment, all 14 of them........

Anyway feeling better after taking my med and some sleep, so here are my updated pictures.

looking very good, 3 tone camo is difficult to paint, it often looks "out of scale", dark being too dark and light being too light. But you did it exactly right according to me.

I would not chip any more, Russian vehicles were actually well maintained

I noticed that the holes of the mesh around the circular vents were a bit clogged, perhaps you could fix that with a needle or something (if you want to, it's your model )

Hi, i remember when i was a teenager back in the early eighties, dreaming of building one of theese beauties. Was only the Tamiya T-62 available back then for russian armor modelling.

I am very impressed with what you have done with this skif model, especially the weld seams and the chipping.

Fantastic work!

Loving it Dan.

That mud you applied before painting has worked a treat. An idea to be borrowed me thinks.

Thank you chaps, some very kind words.

The air intake grills might need an bit of work to clear the paint, its quite hard so I'll set about with my fibre glass pencil and repaint later.

Anyway...Mud !

I'll add some more mud colours to what's been applied just to make it more realistic, looks to me at this point a little flat in depth.

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Really can't think of much else to say, well apart from your choice of photography stand, but we've already spoken about that!

Stunning fella, truly lovely work.

Thank Rich, you don't like my spraying prop?

Right.......... Track time, just test fitted at this stage as they require more weathering, need to work on the guide teeth
and get them a bit polished up on the contact points.

Cheers

Working on the headlight boxes today,

MV lenses and some plastic card, SKIF would have you place the lights in the boxes before you close the hull up, this hopefully makes it easier.

not much to see at the moment. The Skif parts have some mega sink marks on the center of each light, a drop of Mr Surfacer does the trick.

Some cut down lenses for the inner shielded lights next to the two assemblies.

Cheers

Evening all,

I'm almost done with the vehicle build, nothing else to add and not a lot left to paint only a few touch ups, so the next stage is the crew figures. Not decided on which figures to use yet but the ICM or Zevesda sets are what I'm looking at with a Hornet resin head or two.

Anyway the work so far.

Next build will be Tamiya M60 with a few bits of aftermarket thrown in.

Comments always welcome chaps

Spectacular build, Dan! I'm trying to stop buying new kits, so I can start on the MTLB. But, I just proposed another campaign. Looks like I won't be able to start till after the new year.

Very nice work. What paints did you use for your camo scheme (make and colors) it looks spot on.

Thank you for the comments chaps,

Paints used were Tamiya for spraying and cut with Mr colour leveling thinner, Green was mixed by eye from Tamiya Olive Drab and Olive Green lightened with a drop of Tamiya Buff. The black is standard Tamiya Nato black so nothing special there. And the sand colour was again mixed by eye from Tamiya Dark Yellow and Buff. All other colours used for brush painting were Vallejo as these are probably the best brushing acrylics on the market.

Weathering products were a mixture of AK and Mig,ranging from the oil colors to pigments and washes.

Hope this helps

Morning Dan

Speaking as an armour virgin that's just lost his cherry!! I think you've done an amzing job on this kit. For what I've seen on this thread and what you've told me about the kit you've really grabbed it by the throat and made it a 1st class model.

Looking forward now to the M60!!

Take it easy mate. Oh and my 62 will be here on Sunday.
