I just got some Vallejo paint and the weather has cleared up. I will be tackling my build, today.

Few days before the deadline and I've 10000 pieces still to be put all together to complete my 251/7 sturmbrucke. This AFV kit is veeeery detailed, maybe tooooo much.

Only 20 (!) pieces just to assemble the aft doors and their frame:

Dry brushing started with an olive drab color then lightened slightly for a second pass. One more pass with a lighter shade then decals. The bridge boards got my attempt at looking like the green paint wore off the wood in the middle of each section. Aluminum wear will follow on the aluminum parts where appropriate

I believe that it is made of steel. Aluminum was rather expensive. But, I only base this on the availability of resources.

Sal: Nice job. I would go back over the decals, with a green filter, if you aren't going for new. If you have and decal solvent, the registration number, on the left side needs some touch up. If you are happy with it, run with it. After all, that's what this hobby is about.

Just finished a commission and earned myself a well-deserved beer. Tomorrow, my D9R is up for the paint shop.

Rigging started using 10-lb test fishing line. I'll try to paint it to look like cable. I just could bare the stray fibers that thread provides

rigging done before paint. The bridge is not glued at the hinge yet so I'll add tension (weight) to this when I apply glue

Hi Don thanks for the complement. I really liked this kit it was a bit more than the typical Tamyia kit with a bit more detai but with that same easiness . Probably the largest Tamiya kit I ever built. Had fun with it and that's what counts.
