That's why I don't touch any former posts... armorama, planetarmor and my blog also "lost". But I simply don't have the time to go back and remove-restore all the pictures

Being that I have been running the thread for so long I'm persisting to show the images and remove anything that relates to photobucket.

If I have the time to spend 4 years on a build then a few hours changing photo's can be absorbed in to the joys of plastic modelling.

Back again with the next installment of wip on the Dragon Panzer 3
Still working on the weathering on the rear deck and scaling some areas back of being overweathered.
The images have been taken on the phone camera and don't come up as clear
Getting it all ready to be glued to the trailer, slow work but it's getting there.

Aha wondered about this one. Just to say that Mk III actually looks like it’s made of metal rather than plastic, mainly due to all the tone/colour variations – did you brush or air-brush? Might quibble about the shiney rubber on the wheels (unless they're representing wet?) but otherwise it’s a real gem

It's not the best of photo's but a good point about the wheels.
The intention was to show wear on the rubber wheel being worn by the metal track. Trying to provide a variation of colour to the outside wheel rubber.

The Panzer was airbrushed with a final satin coat.Weathering was then applied over the top in a wet format.ie:Pigments mixed with Methylated spirits and applied with a fine brush around the recess sections.

It was a first time using the satin coat, sort of a metallic like appearance when looking at the model at different angles.

Hmm thanks for tricks-of-trade, must try that myself as it clearly works very well. As for the wheels, for variation I usually make the sides dustier relative to the shade of the surface contacting the track...although there is an argument to have it t'other way round!

Hello again,

Back again with the next installment of work.
Work has been slow on the Famo and trailer. I have put extra work in staining the base and glueing and chaining the Dragon Panzer 3 to the trailer.

The brake airlines for the front chassis have also been glued into place on the front trailer arm.

Work has been slow as I have taken on the HK Models B17 with AC Models B17 aircrew.
It has been a passion of mine to build the Memphis Belle in 1/32nd scale so it now become's a reality.
With obtaining the base for the plane in the last couple of weeks it will be built alongside the completion of the famo and trailer.

The aircrew will be completed and the work to finish the famo and trailer will finally be over.

I actually did the same thing with the entire crew of the Tamiya 88mm, and someone pointed it out to me. The pics I found online as a uniform reference at the time didn't make the distinction. I've since found more accurate websites.



Little secret: I never went back and fixed mine and it's been six years.

I appreciate your comment. There was some extra work to do on the Famo before getting pinned and glued to the base and immediately got to work addressing the figures as the first stage to close off the build.
Here is the update to the figures. It is the first time with close images of the crew.

The show has been running at this venue for a couple of years now and it's positioned in a good location and held at a nice time of the year.

The Famo and trailer will be on the competition table all weekend. The model was started somewhere around November 2013 and after 5 years blogging it on the internet I thought it would be good for everyone to come and see it close up and share their thoughts and suggestions with me.
