Hi folks,
Some more track side and dio stores I'll be working on. The shells and boxes will be for the track side. I'll mount the shells on planks. The stretchers and medical kits will be for and around the ambulance. I'd like a kneeling medic or padre by the wounded on the ground but haven't sourced a potential figure yet, although the kneeling chap in the Tamiya set might give the legs and arms, even possibly the medic.
Alternative stacks and medical stuff. I must remember to do a bucket.
Cheers

Hi folks,
A bit more work on my linemen, men up a pole
Sorry, difficult angle to get a picture at. I just need to nudge the gripping arm over a bit.

Hi RJ,
Stay well and have fun, let the adventure begin.

Edit,
BTW AC Models have solved two/three of my figure builds
A stretcher bearer
And another medic
If the ICM Marching Brits are similar to the provisional box art, some troops heading to the front may appear and their weapons and equipment set might give rise to a few more
These could replace the Model T Ford and leave that for another winter build with the RR and the Resicast Winter figures.
Cheers

Hi Jerry and Kurt,
Thanks guys. Just working on some captured German weapons for the final touch on the first dio. Then the painting of the shells stacks that will be trying lol.

Hi Jerry,
Just for info I checked with AC Models after I read Keith's news article and they are 1/32 scale (54mm) figures. I first saw them over on PMMS and they are shown as 1/35 scale unless otherwise stated, and when I made my enquiry/purchase it was in the belief that they were 1/35 scale. I'll have to see how they blend size wise when they arrive. Size may or may not be a problem but it is usually the equipment that causes the problem Either way they are a nice set and if they don't fit here I can use them as stand alone figures.

Hi folks,
Started work on the figures for in and around the gun. Using the Bronco Bofors crew for these.

Hi Alan,
I love your figures m8, but do you think a crewman "in action" would be fully dresses and carry full equipment (including respirator)???
Great show!! Will be looking forward to seeing the horse finished!!
Cheers

Hi Romain,
The thoughts on the crew came from this one. I love the tiles falling off the roof
I thought I'd keep the remaining greybacks for the 8 inch gun.

Hi folks,
It's amazing where this hobby takes you to. Adding a horseman seemed a reasonably good idea and not to difficult in theory
.
So off to the world of saddles. I've chosen to do an officers saddle as it looks a best fit for the style in the kit but the kit part needs some (many) alterations. So I cut the parts out from the blanket and removed the horn of the saddle. First off the saddle sits on two runners so I've added those. These were padded and I'll probably do the padding from milliput, the saddle sits off the horses back a bit rather than flat to it. Once I get that looking right I can start to add the many fittings and straps that go with it.
Robert Wagner sent me a box of parts several years ago and one of the items was a part used fret of the Verlinden buckles so I'm hoping most of the fittings can come from that. (Thanks Robert). I've also used some of those for belt and strap buckles so a very useful item.
The figure would best suit conversion to an officer, much less work so that's what he will be or I could make an unmounted one if the rider doesn't turn out reasonable.
Anyway some progress.
This one will require a lot of thought to get half right.
Cheers

Hi Romain,
Just finished fixing about 12 small PE fixings to the saddle. I need to decide whether to make a Staff Officer or a Cavalry man with a tin pot and whether to mount him or have him standing by the horse. Also whether to add the rifle and sword
Cheers

Hi Kurt,
Thanks, animals are a new element for me. Some progress on the horse.
One option is to leave the rider off and have him on the road.
This is the kit that comes with the horse. I don't think the German saddlebags look that mush different from the British ones I've looked at, any thoughts.
Another option is to add some more kit.
and the last to add the rider as a young Lt scout looking through some binos.
The weapons in the foreground are some of the German ICM items I'm going to add to the first dio.
Cheers
Al
