Hi folks,

Got a little more done on the artillery position, added the first of the ammo loads, a bit of colour to the internal plaster and I have started to build up some rubble inside the building. I will probably clear the bricks from part of the flooring I added and stack some charges or rounds there. I'll also hollow out a few of the wicker baskets as dis-guarded items.

Sunlight was a bit bright for pics but you'll get the idea.

It's raining cats and dogs overhere, so the sunshine was a real need.
But serious now. It's a challenge to make it look like there has been a big shower.
Seen to much dusty builds I suppose.

Thanks. A lot to do in this one. The bricks are from the SB Scotia Range I bought a few years back. I have some form Great North Road too but these ones were the SB Models offering.

I needed to build up a little bit more of the internals of the building as the base wasn't set square to the edge of the board.

On the MiniArt poles, just be aware there is a lot of clean u on the cross members, They are attached at two points so you'll need a bit of care and patience when cleaning them up.

I was looking the the telegraph poles picture and wondering if the cross poles were just a temporary measure to aid the work or part of the permanent structure?

Any thoughts? If temporary would it be realistic to add them to my poles?



I had also thought about adding a line of oil drums. They appear to have been invented around 1905 but I've only seen one pics with a drum visible and that was by a captured British Tank.

the cross poles are a temporary measure just to give stability during the construction.

But why do you hesitate ? It looks realistic and it gives the whole structure a special touch.

That's what I was thinking. I was also thinking of securing them with rope bindings, but for speed and ease they would probably just have driven a securing spike through them.

I'll maybe get a little more done at the weekend, although I have been working on the ammo loads for the gun - all in good time lol.

Hey Alan, I think it was Plus Models that did a set of reels with cable on them. I used 2 of them in my never ending R/R dio. Look to be of the same style as the ones from Verlinden; and they look pretty good. Might be of use for you. This one is coming along very nicely also. bob d.

Just a heads up for those who have been following the thread and have an interest in the narrow gauge railway. There will be a new small wagon coming soon from Resicast.

Hi Jerry,

I believe the kit will come with some wounded soldiers and a pusher or possibly a set with an ammo load or both options may be available.

It should make for a good stand alone option or in conjunction with the GBS base and Resicast Ford Ambulance. Whatever it's final presentation it has a lot of diorama possibilities. I've seen these human powered and towed by mule and horse and even Ox.

I'm making some stretchers for this one as it will fit very well with the wounded soldiers returning to the CCS.
