Hey Jerry,

The figure is looking awesome with all of the work you have put into him. Can't wait to see him with some snow under his feet.

Cheers,
James

Probably no snow as the guy that wants him needs kind of a neutral base.
Thanks for the kind words though,

The best character in easily one of the best war movies of all time. I really like what I see, and wish you the best in completing him!

Thanks buddy! I appreciate that.

A neutral base as in a dirt road where the snow was moved away by tire and tank tracks? The snow kind of puts him in the "elements". However, I have done one commissioned piece and I know that you have to do what the person who is commissioning the piece wants. I am sure he is going to be very pleased with the figure. You have done an excellent job recreating his likeness and the details you have put into it like the buckles and stuff on the webbing is top notch.

Cheers.

Hi Jerry,

I have to say I saw the movie for the first time yesterday and that figure is spot on!

Paul

Paul, thanks for the excellent comment. Yes,it is one of my favorite movies for sure.

My eyes have been making it hard to focus on small things lately. I think the scale on this new PE I came up with is a bit too large but it is the smallest I can handle so it's got to do!!
I made the pistol belt out of lead foil as well as the y-straps. The slide adjusters are PE from a German set and the buckle is alum. wire. The safety pin is fine brass wire with bits of plastic on either end. In the film,Kinney had stripped everything off his belt except for the first aid pouch which he had on the back part.
Still up is the helmet straps and MP sling and then to slap some more paint on.

Hope all of you are enjoying the perfect weather we are here in Eastern Pa this fine morning.
J

Jerry-- Marvelous! Even the safety pin, what attention to detail, great workmanship.

OK,got a few hours in here and there to put the finishing brushstrokes on Kinney. Please excuse the huge magnification as you can see every little teeny flaw this way.
J

Now to add a few flourishes to the base and all is ready to ship!!
Hope that I did KInney justice.

There we go! Great face on him, looks like the real guy. The backdrop also helps a lot in terms of photographing it. I like the colors too, I'm going to have to look into getting that set.

Romain and Conor!!
Thanks for looking in and the kind comments old buddies.
Yes,I am liking these True Color paints a bunch. They not only have nice color value but they cover very well even with thin coats.
I must admit I am still struggling with Vallejo. It's probably my fault(most things are) but I can't get it down.

Fantastic to see this finished Jerry- whoever it is going to is going to be one happy fella! The photographs against the backdrop are real nice. The final colors are fantastic- great highlights and shadows and the face is just epic- the painting has really brought out the expression wonderfully.

Hey Guys, I am the proud recipient of "Kinney"
I gave Jerry a blank slate to build me whatever he wanted.
I needed (wanted) a 1/35 figure to use as a scale on photos on the store website and as usual he doesn't disappoint.
So you will be seeing him here and there and if I make the deadline (I think I will) you will also see him in a large full page ad in MMiR 62 due out late summer/early fall.
For those of you that didn't know I also commissioned Jerry to build the 2 SS figures in the Ardennes diorama - again he doesn't disappoint that's why he is my first call, hopefully in time I can build and paint figures half as good as all you guys I see on here.
Job well done Jerry - Thanks Buddy

A finale with a flourish, Jer!

"Kenny" does indeed look the part, and your rendition does do him justice (and then some!).

An enjoyable build to follow along with. As always, thanks for sharing and taking the time to document the work!

Happy modeling!

Jerry, this is quite simply an awesome final result. The time and effort you've put into Kinney has proven yet again how great a figure can become at the hands of a master sculpter and finisher. We are indeed in the presence of greatness in this forum. It has been a joy to watch him come together.

Can't wait for a commonwealther!!
