Hey gang,

Posted new progress on blog page. Tried to post photo's here only to have a meltdown on my side.

Anyways, run into a challenge with the rear deck exhaust and rear turret clearance. Had to do a some cutting to make things fit.

I'll keep trying to post photos for you.

See ya in the funnies..............

Brian a build log without pictures is not a lot of help to the viewer or you when you have a question. You are going to have to overcome this issue.

My wife wants your cats though.

Same with the cut and paste.

I know it's user error, but what? LOL

Afternoon,

These the pics you looking to post? All I do is click on the image link (where it says URL...) and it auto copies the link then come here and left click and paste. And OUCH if that is the way that kit goes together.. I am looking at mine right now and was planning on starting it this week.. but now I am not so sure. I am in no mood to take on that kind of mess.

Yeah, the turret and engine deck/exhaust shroud simply do not fit properly. The underside of the turret is concave to allow the shroud and turret to coexist IF the turret is pointing dead forward or far enough off to the side, but in the wide arc just off top dead centre to either side, it interferes with the grossly misshapened turret.

I think out of my M103 kit I can use the torsion bar arms, some of the fenders, the hatches and a couple other bits and bobs. Everything else is scrap.

Hello all,

Thanks Easy.
I've done the URL cut and paste, IMG cut and paste, and the only thing that I get is that broken pix's icon like I stated.
I've even gone as far as cutting and pasting from the address bar directly. LOL. I'll get it before the build is done. LOL
The kit isn't all that bad Easy, now if your a "perfectionist" then that's a different story.

Robert,

Yes, the rear deck exhaust is a PITA, but it's an easy fix.
You could probably use more than would you stated Robert out of this kit also.
Here's some data I ran into on the whole M103 line.

http://www.afvdb.50megs.com/usa/m103heavy.html

You may have see it Robert. If so, disregard.

Anyways, it's been a pretty fun build so far. I'll keep trying to get the photo posting issues solved. Till then...

See ya in the funnies.....................

Brian: When looking at your images on photo bucket, open one up to full size. On the right hand side there are four options Email&IM, Direct, HTML and IMG. You just click on the box next to 'IMG' and the word Copied will appear for a short time. You then go to your thread here and right click and select ‘Paste’. The code that appears needs no further action on your part as when you submit your post the picture will appear.

In this example I have highlighted the 'direct' link for N54 applications, but you just left click the 'IMG' link for here, you'll see it turn yellow and say 'copied', then come back to your message here and just right click and paste it in.

HTH,

For Easy8 and Robert,

Rear deck after modification to exhaust. The shape is right, it's just that Dragon don't measure right. Either you build up the turret ring to clear it or you shave off the exhaust parts to fit.

On a roll now.............

Two more photo's, then I'll let it cool down.

These are all the tools I'm using. Nothing fancy here. Yes, that is a wine cork opener you see.

The tracks supplied with the kit aren't too bad. They are flexible enough to put on without busting the running gear up. Kind of like the Tamiya tracks do because of their tight tolerances.

Ok, that's it for now.
