Thanks Paul,
I'm still unhappy with this guy, plus,I can't seem to find a brain bucket that looks acceptable.

I can't see anything wrong with the helmet. It looks proportionally correct to me. Also the helmet will look totally different with strips of hessian attached. I look forward to seeing this develop.

I can only agree with Paul! There is nothing wrong with that helmet! Just make sure you attach scrim!

Your decision to put the e-tool back in the middle is right IMHO. It corresponds to the vast majority of photos I've seen so far (and that's quite a few )

I'm happy there are so many projects circling around Arnhem and brit para!! Warms my heart!!!

Cheers

Oh yes, Jerry, don't forget to give the man a proper veil scarf!

I was never without it! And it helps shortening the neck a little!

Cheers

Yup, useful set! Nevertheless, there is the issue of size compatibility (unfortunately).

Helmet looks fine to me. Nice work there mate. Re the Hornet and Resicast heads they're both nice sets. I've used both sets and they're proportioned well and suit both Tamiya and MB figures. Not tried the Wee Friends ones yet but they look good. I'd leave the head as it is to be honest as it looks spot on.

Hi Romain, Really I've used the heads with no problem!

and whilst their is a slight difference in figure size they still work fine with other 1/35 scale figures.

People are not a uniform hight and build, so they mix up fine.

Thanks for the good intel guys. I think maybe I will go with the Tamiya blank helmet. By the time I add the netting and scrim it may become respectable? I already am using the Hornet head.

I am aware thanks. I have found it is a lot easier for me to paint faces without the helmets on. I am way too clumsy otherwise.

I made some more mistakes but this will have to do. I think I have the webbing sorted but the error is the straps are crossed way too low under the rucksack. But hey...it'll have to fly for now.
I also ran out of the small buckeles so I have to get back to AllianceModelworks.

And yes...I now need to go back and fill in where the e-tool used to be. And then add the bayonet frog. It's all good though,as the learning curve was pretty steep.

Just picked up the Dragon box of Arnhem paras last night at Avenel Hobbies.
Some nice equipment was found therein! I really like the Enfield and the Sten,Bren, etc. I also like the helmet! Anyway,I like it better than the Minicraft one. When I put the scrim on it all will be in order I wager.
The piat rounds case also removes the need for my bayonet frog! It fits nicely under his arm and I made a carrying strap as well that loops through the cases' carrying handle(unseen)
Right....new helmet, ammo case added with strap.

Need to slap some putty in to fair everything together but Pete the Para is almost ready for some color!!

Went outside and shot some primer on to see where it needs tweeking. I think the arms and the sleeve folds/cuffs. Also the smock in front of the ammo tubes and in back.
Of course, still to come is the helmet scrim and the pigsticker.

Ah yes!!! I just realized. Epaulets!!

Hope it's not getting too boring? Fairly mundane stuff.

This "boring" stuff is what I gotta pay attention to! It helps. Liking how this is going, a lot of work in just one figure.

have you clocked the fact that the Small pack has separate L-straps which connect to the pack by tabs on the top of the back of the pack and by buckles at the bottom? At the corner of the "L" there is a flat hook that clips into a fitting at the top of the front pouches. That's why the buckles are seen high up on the back. This arrangement meant that the pack could be taken off easily without removing the whole set of webbing equipment.
