As said i have received the last Meng's kit.
The Cougar comes in an usual big box, with lots of beautifuly mouldes sprues.
Two type of truck are possible. They name them : Cougar 6X6 and Cougar 6X6 HEV
I took sprues pictures later this morning.
In the box we can find :
-15 yellow plastic sprues +main upper body
-6 clear sprues; As for the D9 there is clear windows and green tinted one.
-8 vynil tires without moulding line
-a little PE sheet and decals for the 2 versions.
The kit come with lots of antenna, and I can't wait to begin it!!!!!!!!
Looking on the sprues I think that Meng will deliver soon a 4X4 version, but it is just my opinion don't ear rumour about this

Some view from what is in the box :
The seats belts :
Comparison between the Panda and Meng upper hull. I'am surprised with the engine hoods length. Any informations about this ?

Are both hulls the same width? It's impossible to tell from this photo.

So it looks like there is a scale problem - MENG kit is just generally larger. The question is which one is more accurate...
The width of both kits should be 77.4mm (2710mm in 1:1) at rear side marker lights. I will try to verify it on parts of my Panda Cougar this evening.

Pascal,
What is the length of the hood in the Meng kit?
My quick measurements and calculations suggest that it should be between 48 - 49 mm to be reasonably accurate. Of course it should be identical in both kits...

Ouch... It doesn't sound good... I hope Meng didn't make a mistake of assuming the vehicle length in specifications does not include the boarding steps at the rear... In fact it does. Such mistake could result in an overscale model. But I hope I'm wrong... I really do...

Panda's hood is around 50.5mm.And I heard that Panda has measured the actual vehicle, maybe their cougar is more accurate?

50.5mm is certainly closer to my rough estimates. I think the verification of the kit width could confirm whether the Panda kit is closer to correct dimensions.

I just measured the Panda kit width. It's 73.2mm at rear side marker lights... this means it's 4.2mm too narrow... Doh... So Panda kit is certainly not accurate in width - the Meng might be closer if it's main hull shell is 3mm wider (the question remains whether the entire vehicle, after attaching the fenders, will also be appropriately wider than the Panda kit...).
I'll try to assemble a few more parts to measure it's length now.
EDIT: Easier said than done... Instructions in my Panda kit are missing a few pages... Arghhh...

And as you'll see from my photos armored plate was often substituted for the tires as they were prone to catching fire.
