Well John when you get some time to play with your new toys please give us an update!!

Curious what paint you chose to try out to run through your new airbrush and how you made out with it?

Good luck!

Craig..

Hello Craig,
Got a chance to run a little paint through the airbrush today. I was impressed with the results and the ease of the brush. I used tamiya paint thinned with windex . I then ran some alcohol through it to clean it. Not sure if this is best for the brush, maybe some one can tell me if this is ok . Thanks , John

Hey John, glad to hear you've gotten a chance to try out your new set up! I wish my tax returns would come so I could buy mine and get started also!

John I've had a lot of time to kill while waiting for my $mullah$ so I've been doing a ton of reading and researching on just about anything I can think of and just wanted to let you know their is a huge amount of info on this site on paints, how to thin them and with what, how to properly clean your airbrush and keep it functioning properly through out your painting sessions and so on. You Tube has a wealth of videos on these subjects also.

Also you can just type in your brand of paint that you are using and there are tons of opinions/instructions available!

At the top of this page use the search feature and click on the armorama.com option next to the search bar and away you will go.

You probably know all this but thought I'd just put it out there for you, this site has provided me with a wealth of info and I've also been directed to other sites that have great content for newbie's.

Good luck and keep the progress going I'm sure I'm not the only modeler out there thats interested in your experience with your new set up!

Craig..

I hope you are aware that buying and planning is the most fun ingredients in this hobby? The rest is only different ways of getting to new shopping sprees...

Thanks for the enthusiasm towards and for me guy's! It's been tough just window shopping over the past couple of months but I will admit that it wasn't all bad, I've learned a lot about the AFV hobby and whats available out there in armored land.

I've always been a tool, book and model hound and this genre has no shortage of either of these!

I also purchased Mig Jimenez dvd on vallejo's acrylic techniques for some learning and guidance with my painting.

I purchased Adam Wilder's working with photo etch DVD to give me some lessons on working with this fragile material. The Tetra PE kit I ordered for my Meng T-90A is quite extensive and this dvd was recommended to me as a excellent source to learn from.

I also purchased Michael Rinaldi's TankArt volumes 2&3 they are FANTASTIC!!! I just wish I could find a copy of Volume 1, I've spent hours on the web and cannot find that damn book and I WANT IT!! Maybe some help guy's finding one??

Well again thanks for the thumbs up guy's!! Now Just a little more dreaming and waiting for the postman.

Craig

Well guy's.. Some things are starting to trickle in, yippy! The T-90a Meng MBT arrived and what a kit it is! Tons of parts and some are so small! I'm going to be busy for awhile thats for sure.

The Tetra PE upgrade kit w/barrel is here and looking at that I'm a bit intimidated to say the least.

Vallejo acrylics dvd came and I watched it once, it's good but it's a little bit fast.

Adam Wilders Dealing with PhotoEtch dvd came, watched it once and I have to say it is fantastic and very professionally done! I'm a little less intimidated now about my Tetra pe kit.

Small Shop 4" pe bender came and I'm very impressed will the professional quality of this little tool,Very Solid, Very Nice!

Other small tools Xuron assorted pliers and cutters,NICE!

My Sparmax Compressor 620-x got back ordered for 3 weeks but I got a great deal at Chicago Airbrush $ 263.00 Just happened to catch a 20% off 3 day sale so I'm not complaining..

My Iwata HP-CS is coming from Japan thru Amazon, that will take some time but again $ 98.00 & free shipping is nothing to squabble at!

Oh I also scored that Daylight Triple Bright Light # U32500 at Amazon for $121.99 $58.00 off the normal cost, so I also bought one for my Mother for Mothers Day!

All in all I'm pretty stoked up about it and in getting started in this new AFV modeling adventure! So much to learn and so many more tools to buy, it doesn't get any better than this!

Anyways I thought I'd give you guy's a heads up on my progress, don't know if I should be writing this in this thread or not, or if anyone is even interested but I'm new here and you guy's have been a great help with advice and have been instrumental in guiding me with my choices and new purchases.

I appreciate all of you and the time you have given to my plight!

Thanks
Craig...
