Althought not a tank

Commandeering a LAV-300 is sure fun! Also driving it!
I really want to hop in any Sherman tanks.

Nothing too original from me. I would like my first M1 back. Not for just a day though. I'd like to keep it !!!

Been there ....done that....spent two years as an M60a1 tank platoon leader....none of that modern push the button jazz for me....and none of that old cold steel either.... I'ld love to run down the gunnery qualification range just one more time

I've been in an M-1 for a live fire at Graf, it was cool too!
But, I think I would like to be in a M-103 like has already been mentioned. They're massive! There were three on static display at Ft.Polk in the early 80s (wonder if they're still there?) I would often climb up on one of them and just set there for a couple hours.
Which brings me to a complaint, when will we see a kit?

Oh Oktober BAD CHOICE....I have been in both the T-55 and the T-62. They are pieces of JUNK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why do you think we changed our battlefield strategy from retreating defense to blow them away at the border in late 70's? After we (the guys on the ground) got around to assessing the capabilities of the Russian built tanks we realized we could whip the dog poo poo out of them

An FT-17. - It harkens back to a day when tanks were thinly armored, slow. dangerous and crewed by men of steel.
Actually - M1A2 - but only if I get to the fire the main weapon.

Yeah the LAV300 was fun to drive, had a few of them at Ft. Polk and I was lucky to be licensed on them

Would have to be a Scorpion. Almost got squashed by one in Germany in 1988 when it slid sideways on the ice towards me. Safest place to be was in one after that! Plus it caused me to tread in the only dog turd in Germany. Good job I had NBC boots on...lol...I won't repeat what I shouted at the crew as decorum forbids! Love them as a tank though. Fast and pretty damned groovy!

I have to agree with SABOT, I think the MBT-70 would be dream to crew in any position. It was just so far ahead of its time.
But aside from that, how about the T-28 heavy assault tank !? Imagine driving that monster that the U.S.A made sometime after WW2. It had 4 sets of TRACKS to give you an idea of this monstrosity !!!!!!! And just so you all dont get confused, its not the russian junk ok.
Any WW1 tank would be interesting would also be great.
But, I will always love the M1A1 HEAVY, it brought me home after the 1st gulf war, so it will always hold a special place in my heart.

One thing I've noticed in this thread is how many ex-army we have here. It's interesting to see!

I think I'd like to drive a Pz III or IV, I've done an Abrams and used to be in Bradleys, so I'd like to step back to the originals.

Id have to say either a Tiger 1 or a KV. It would be great to see the contrast between these 2 warriors.
But if I could get myself into a working Maus, that would be a great adventure

.
Cheers

I am going to have to go with the 3 tank response. 1st would be an M5A1 in honor of my grandfather who commanded one during WWII. Second would be an abrams, just for the speed it can get (have read the stories of crews/talked to crews saying they have gotten them up to 90 mph). That would be scary and fun. 3rd would be one of the big classic landships form WWI like a MkIV.

I would have to pick a late model Merkava. I just love the looks of this tank. I also like the crew survivability components.
