That looks more like an artillery wagon than a tank. Sure it isn't some variation of the Paladin?

Dan, no.. It is one variation of the TAM (Tanque Argentino Mediano), which production started in the 70's. Right now, the TAM is under some improvements to update it.

Cheers.

Isn't the TAM based on the German Marder IFV?

I've seen some pictures and they look very similar

We'll John is right. Dust and grime in every nook and cranny, some i wont mention. Smelling of jp8 when the fuel splashes all over you when the tank over flows. Humping 50lb bullets all over the place. Digging 5 miles of concertina wire out your sprockets. Feelling aroung in the mud for the 3 track blocks you lose when your track breaks. But then ... you get to fire that honking gun. It makes it all worth it.

As for the tank I would want to be on for a day. The M1A1 140mm prototype. If 120mm is good bigger has got to be better.

Personally, I would have liked to be one of the loonies inside the A7V Sturmpanzer, or a field tester for the Lebedenko "Tsar Tank".

Simple question simple answer.

The Bovingtom Museum Tiger 1 ( proviso after its warmed up, tuned and properly serviced by suitably qualified and experienced Tank engineers to the highest standard and they have one month to do this prior to my arrival). I know it sounds fussy or OTT but it looks like it runs like a dog and needs some serious TLC before I take it for a thrash.

I already am driving my dream "tank" - It's a Swedish Volvo :-)

Otherwise, however great those beasts look, I, a dedicated AFV modeler myself, find them to be too cramped, too loud, too hot, too greasy, too dusty&rusty& clanky for my comfort. Plus, it is a heck of a thing to clean up and get one ready, let alone maintain.

Yep, you are right. They based the design on the German Marder and made some improvements and modifications, having in mind our particular territory.

Cheers.

heck id pick the czar tank
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Czar_tank
biggest tank ever made, perhaps not practical or reliable according to reports but put it on good ground and ill be all over it
also an allied Mark VIII WW1 tank would be pretty interesting to drive around.

Just give me back my M60A3TTS. Hope those Brazilians are taking good care of it.
(In case you didn't know the M60s I was on were shipped to Brazil)

At least yours is still tanking along. They towed all of the Marine Corps M60A1's I was on out to the target ranges. My old tank is probably setting out on one of the ranges at Camp Pendleton. But if I could have one more day with it, I would love it. Ranging out to a target at 4000 yards and firing HEP as fast as the loader could load. We could have three rounds in the air before the first hit. That and watching something diappear through the 10 powered gunner's sight was a lot of fun. Watching the breech recoil 12-14 inchs right in front of you as the loader. Driving through walls and over anything you liked. Standing in the TC's hatch, shouting fire commands and blasting stuff with the M-85. Yes, I would like it a lot.

I would take the French Leclerc for a spin for a day, or a Leopard 2 A6.

Either a Chally 2 or the Leo 2A6 we Canucks just got. Course I would take anything really. I would have fun on a Stuart too. Easily the most intimidating tank of all time. Ha.

I think that there are two for me as well.

I would loved to be in a DD Tank on thier day to shine in WW2.

I also would have loved to be in Afghanistan with the Our Leopard C2A1's when they first left the wire.

Hehehe...John I can relate to that on a parallel after watching the join the infantry ads on TV. Walk up the Brecon Beacons in the rain, hallucinate as you've not had any sleep for three days, be permanently soaked through, crap in a hole then use that weird tracing paper to wipe your bum which makes matters worse, carry kit that weighs more than you cover ridiculous distanceson foot, eat compo that varies between painful constipation or chronic diaeorrhea...and then find out your Rupert has got the whole platoon lost and you're fifteen miles from where you should be and you've run out of water and rations. The Army...It's great!

Oh i remember the days (COLD SHIVER).

WWII - Tiger (just so I could see what all the fuss was about)
Cold War - Centurion (got a ride on one when I was a kid, it was very cool...)
Modern - Canadian Leopard C2 - greatest tank on the planet with the greatest crews....

I'd like to be an old one on display sitting in front of the TV, watching Hockey Night in Canada and completely fueled by beer and tequila.
