Hello,

Following up on the 500+ campaign, I'm going to propose a step-up for its follower: The 750+ Campaign.

The rules will stay pretty much the same as with the first one:

1. Part count of 750 or more
- decals are not counted
- parts for different variants not part of the build are not counted
- AM parts are counted if placed on the vehicle
- scratch-built parts are counted as sensible sub-components (e.g single rivets are not counted but riveted panels as a whole do)
2. Any land or hybrid vehicle, any scale, any era
3. Partially started kits ARE allowed provided they are not more then 50% finished
4. Building can be started if these are less than 50% finished on the official start date
5. Posting your builds in other campaigns IS allowed (I never understood why this should not be allowed in the first place)
5. You must upload an image of the kit before starting as an evidence of its completeness state along with evidence of the date the image was taken on (newspaper of the day, website with the current date, a piece of paper with the date on it, etc)
6. At least two WIP photos (the more, the better) need to be uploaded along with the finished piece appearing in the campaign gallery. Separate building blogs or threads are welcome and encouraged.
7. Definition of a finished model: the model that has been completely assembled and painted (weathering is optional).

Anyone interested?

I'm in for sure! I'll have to check the parts count on my MENG T-72B3 or the Takom Chieftain Mk 5.

Hi Christian, I have a couple of those old Dragon Pz.IV's. The ones with 1000 parts or at least that is what it says on the box. When do you think this will start & how long will it last ?

This is great! Five already!

I was thinking about a start date in October with a runtime of around 9 months.

Yes, I'll see if I can find something with a lot of parts that wants building. It should be fun!

Is there a place a person can look up part counts?

Though not all manufacturers do -- some box tops have them. I've seen this with DML, Trumpeter, Italeri. If you have the kit number you can try googling for reviews -- seen this with the ones Cookie Sewell does. You can check out scalemates.com as well.

Three more and we are good to go!

Dustin, I can second Tat on looking up reviews. In case you already have the kit, you can look up the max part number (the numbering is not always present on track sprues, tough) on each tree and add those numbers to get the total.

Do you have any kits in mind? Maybe we can help with the part count?

I have the following two kits which according to the box and the company site have over 750 parts.. if track links count..

Hobbyboss's AAVP-7A1
Trumpeter's M1129 Stryker Mortar Carrier w/interior

I do also have MENG's M2A3 Bradley w/intrior and MENG's new M1A2 Abrams... but I'm not sure about the parts count with these two.. If someone can confirm the number of parts, I would appreciate that.

So, if I do finish the Nagmachon on time for the 500+ campaign, I'm definitely in for this one with one of the aforementioned kits

It be great to have you join, Hisham!

According to this review the Bradley has 660 parts but I was not able to find any information about the Abrams. Still, looking at the tracks sprue of the Abrams, I'm pretty sure that would exceed the 750 threshold.

That'd be eight participants! We need two more!

Cristian, I looked all night for parts counts and came up empty.

The two I have in mind are the Takom Chieftian Mk 5 and MENG T-72b3.

@Dustin: I wasn't able to find any information on those kits, unfortunately. I'll let you know in case anything turns up.

Nine on board! One more, to go!

Hmmm. Academy M-10 Achilles with 577 parts plus Aber PE set 220+ parts and Fruil individual track 200 parts... Even with extras on the sprue for variants of the M10, this should meet the 750+ requirement. What say you all to this as a suitable project?

Hi Colin,
I guess we'll see what Cristian says... I really have to quit signing up for every cool campaign that comes along! I have an unfinished Dieppe Churchill that's in the last stages of painting, a Takom MK 1 Female correction primed and ready for paint, a Pavesi P4/100 waiting to be primed and painted and I'm hip deep in the AFV Club Stuart V build. I just couldn't pass this one up though...

I can't wait to see what your work on the Tauchpanzer IV!

Cheers,
PH

Dustin, why not try dropping a note to the manufacturers themselves? Alternatively if you're on FB, I see Takom has a page with folks posting on it. I wouldn't be surprised if Meng has one as well. I'd say it's worth a try.

@Paul: The M10 with PE and Friuls sounds good to me! I think with about one year from now, you should have enough time to finish your current builds and then concentrate on what is really important: the build for this campaign

@Tat: I think that makes sense and is worth a try. I didn't had much luck with Trumpeter, as they only answer one of my questions but this doesn't mean the other manufacturers would do the same. Let us know how this turns out, Dustin in case you decide to go that way!

I think I'm going to build Trumpeter's Bereg for this campaign.
