Hey guys - Some cool-looking builds shaping up, glad to see all the varied subjects.
Work got in the way quite a lot for a while (the way it always does) but in the last couple of weeks I was able to get my T-72B to the point where it’s ready for paint:
The aftermarket items I used were the resin smoke launchers from E.T. Model, a coaxial MG barrel from Voyager and the Trumpeter clickable tracks for the T-72. As soon as I finish the latter, it’s off to the paint booth, more pictures to follow.
This was a really enjoyable build, gluing the 150 or so PE disks for the anti-radiation cladding was sort of tedious but breaking it up over several days made it tolerable.

That is a nice clean glue job on those disks, what super glue did you use?

Hi Clayton - Thanks! I use Gator's Grip non-toxic glue for PE that just lies flat, for that it works well.

i decided to sign up for this one lastnight and so i will be building OOB the Trumpeter BMP-1. most likely it will be in syrian colours although that hasn't been fully decided yet.
below is a picture of the box top and the kit is still sealed in it's plastic bags. I will be building this kit while am at work so it's going to be a slow build

Hey mates,
this is what I got so far. The BTR is ready for painting.
Till now it was a good and fun built. I'm not so experienced in PE-bending but I think I got it. Have fun on your models.
Best
Chris

Nice work. Campaigns like this really let you see just how wide a range of kits Trumpeter delivers.
I'll be jumping in in a week or two with either an Armoured Aerosan, Vodnik, or UAZ-469.

Construction is complete on my KV-1. I have done it completely OOB.
As with my previous Trumpeter experience it went together really well. I wish I had paid more attention to the extra bits on the sprue as I would have been able to do the tow cables in a much more realistic manner.
I have also had to paint the tracks and side of the tank as due to the length and link nature of them there was no way I was going to be able to paint them properly once the fenders were attached.
Onwards to painting...

well i have managed to get some work done whilst i was at work and have now completed the first three phases of the kit. the lower hull has been taken care of and i have added the road wheels and idler wheels but have left the drive sprockets off for the time being ( although they are not in this picture)

For this campaign I will be building the KV-220 "Russian Tiger". I had originally intended on submitting this for the Landships Campaign, but I figured my Takom P1000 Landkreuzer was a more suitable submission.
I discovered through some research that one of these KV-220's was committed in action near Leningrad in 1941. The tank was apparently lost in the first engagement and no other information regarding its fate could be found. I will be painting it in a white camo with hastily applied German markings. Im going with the premise that the Germans recovered it on the battlefield and prepared it for shipment back to Germany for testing and evaluations.

well that's the turret completed, i just need to add some PE details to it and a few minor parts (excluding the side skirts for the tracks) these will be done once the fruil tracks arrive, which i still have to order, possibly next week if i can find the time.

Ive made some serious progress on the KV-220. The build proved to be fast and easy, and I was able to get it built and primed within 2 days. I did a coat of 4BO, and then applied the winter camo. I used the AK Interactive Chipping Fluid to wear away the winter camo, and applied the decals. The WH is a decal from the Miniart T-44 kit, and the balkenkreuz was hand painted. I wanted it to look like hastily applied immediately after the German capture.
