And more progress this evening.

I have always built tanks, and so this campaign was a great excuse for me to expand into some towed artillery (I haven't even built any SPH's yet). I picked up the Great Wall Hobby Krupp 12.8 cm PAK 44 High Velocity Anti-Tank Gun and found that it was a very quick build.
I had a small mishap when I originally glued the metal barrel in place - I didn't align the muzzle break properly. So now I need to make the repairs to the breach and then start the painting/weathering process.

Shawn that's an impressive looking kit. I haven't been able to find the one with the metal barrel (L3526C) where did you find it?

Hi all,
I love me some big guns, and have enlisted in this campaign (my very first).
I've got a couple of guns on my shelf--the AFV Long Tom, or Testors M110 maybe? Hrm...
Anyways, I'll look on the shelf when I get home (and the surrounding piles) and plan my campaign.

Thanks! I actually found the barrel on eBay, the one that comes in the kit was not very good at all.

Looks great, Jeff! Are the kit tires plastic or rubber?

The tires will be the rubber kit tires. This is my first build in YEARS, and I was looking to just go OOTB to get back into it.

Quoted TextA little progress on the G6. Most of the construction is done, and now it's on to painting and weathering!
looks good. couldn't help but notice that the headlight covers are wonky. the outside pieces are on backwards. (yes the detail will be inside then)
Well that's a problem...thanks for pointing it out, and I'll correct it for the final submission

I'm enlisting my AFV Club Long Tom kit, with PE and rez AM. This will be my first ever non-German gun. Should be fun painting something OD--and HUGE.

Thanks, Jeff. Remember to give the wheels a solid base coat. Sometimes rubber tires can react with washes etc. and dry out or melt slightly.
Maybe mostly a problem with older kits, but you never know.

I have finally started my build for this campaign and it will be a K9 Thunder. Norway is in the process of procuring new SPGs, and the K9 is one of the down-selected candidates. My build will be a Norwegian K9.

WOW! VERY nice gun. The ranging stakes really blast the detail. Nicely done.

Timothy, Great work on the gun. it looks awesome.
Christian, they're not ranging stakes, they're aiming posts.

here's a question (rant). why can't model companies give us optional sight mounts? one with the panoramic sight in while deployed and one without for travel. just a question seeing as this is an artillery campaign.
