Bryan- Wow, must be nice to have a wife looking after your carpet monster,

Brian- Gotta love those ancient kits, you find 'em for $5 at a yard sale, and you never know what you'll get,

PS- "M" Scale??? Never heard of that term before!!!

Yeah, this box had almost no pieces on sprues (which doesnt matter because all parts have numbers ON them) and when I started trying to inventory I quickly realized there was another kit in there, an M-41 Walker Bulldog (neither kit has a complete parts count but I have plannnns)

Looking forward to it, Dr. Frankenstein...

Started a Sturmpanzer IV a couple of weekends ago:

Dragon has us put all the fiddly bits on all the parts and only then mash all the superstructure elements together, which given the fit seems a bit of a mistake. And there were the usual Dragon instruction problems. But now everything's ready to go:

I went to prime the completed 12.8 cm Krupp PAK 44 and the cruciform carriage dropped on the concrete floor of my garage. There was extensive damage, especially to the small intricate details around the wheels/axles. I was able to repair most of the damages, however, she wont past muster with some rivet counters. I primed it and now Im on to the painting stage and Im working with some color modulation- which might be hard to see in the picture.

Sorry to hear about your mishap while painting Shawn. Looks good from the picture. I always wanted to get one of those guns.

There are plenty of good builds here. I haven't given up my K9 but I put the priority to the AMX 13.
The latter being done, I resumed working of the Korean SPG. I had to fill some nasty gaps and ejection pin marks on the gun travel lock.
The model is built at 90%. The 10% remaining are the roadwheels which I'll add after the painting and the weathering of the lower hull and the 0.50 MG which I still don't know if I'll use it.
The true challenge is to find a good match for the light brown of the camo scheme. Hopefully I'll be able to post some pics the coming week-end.

This may sound a stupid question but the rules are a bit vague as it just says artillery which covers a multitude of things so I thought I'd better check. Does the kit have to be an indirect fire anti-materiel artillery piece, say a 25pdr, Le Fh18/40, US 105mm etc which is what immediately springs to mind with the mention of artillery or can it be an anti-tank or anti aircraft gun? The reason being I have two dios in the almost finished planning stage on one/half built on the other. I've got a Flak 36 for one and a Pak 40 for the other and was wondering if they qualify as they are artillery just specific types and I'll be building them whatever. I just wondered if they'd be okay for the campaign as I may as well get a ribbon out of it while I'm building anyway and there's six months left?

I decided to join, a little late, but I have a Soviet 152mm gun planned for a Syrian theme. Once the kit arrives I'll put up a picture.

Some good looking builds here.

Today I sprayed the basic camo.

Next step, painting of the details then application of the decals.

With that huge gun, it's quite difficult to have it all in the picture!

OK, calling my 21cm Morser 10/16 done, I hand painted the trophy markings as I didn't like the decals.

I really like the way you kept the dirt down at the bottom. Very realistic.

I had thought that I had posted some of the build pictures...but I had not. So let's start off with the introduction...I will be building Trumpeter's Chinese 122mm Type 89 multi-barrel rocket launcher in 1/35 scale (#00307). That's a mouthful. It's a 2002 kit.
The vehicle is kind of neat. It's a Chinese version of the Russian BM-21 rocket launcher. It holds 40 122mm rockets. The launcher in mounted on the same chassis as their Type 83 152mm self-propelled howitzer. It has a reload pack mounted in front of the launcher.

The kit has an interior though you really won't be able to see much of it. I began with the engine and drive-train. The engine is molded in silver-ish styrene. It's actually a nice looking motor...and you won't see much of it. You have the transmission, driver's seat, gearbox, and an air compressor. All look pretty nice...a shame since you won't be able to see much of it.

I decided to give the interior a basic paint job. Not trying to be funny but even with the hatches open you really will not be able to see much of the interior. I went ahead and gathered up parts to be painted white for the interior. And of course I missed a couple...but I'll get those later.
I did go ahead and assemble the interior compartment walls. I was going to paint them un-assembled but it would just be added work to clean-up for actual assembly.

Paint dried and all the bits put in the body. Additional paint was done per instructions. You can see the cooling fan...which I had not included in a previous picture. It's a nice looking basic interior. If I had another use for it I would probably have left it out and sealed the kit up. I assume the Type 83 SF Arty comes with the engine and trans as well.

And here's the lower hull with the suspension arms and bits added. And in the foreground are the road wheels, idlers, and drive sprockets.

Great Morser, Colin. Looks really nice and the weathering is spot on.

Alex, nice interior details. Are there no hatches to leave open?

I can't imagine anything would be wrong with that build, Karl, this is a very broad campaign!
