Now on to the Ammo, I painted the shells first.
Don't glue the bases to all the shells as you will need 14 of them for the Sponson rack.
This base will go on the rest of them.

The reason you don't use the end parts as the rack has flat spots where the rounds go, and the rounds with the bases won't fit.
Now for the Cartrige Cases.

I painted the powder end a light Field Grey.
The other end has some nice detailing unfortunately it can't be seen.

Now to install the Ammo Box into the lower hull.
I slid one side in first like so.
Then spreading the sides of the hull slightly, inserted the other side.
There is a loose fit right now but it will tighten up later.
I didn't glue it down yet.

Now for the Gun Mount.
Sam says it's wrong, but I think it is right for the 128mm Gun.
The one that he has in his build looks more correct for the 88mm gun that was fitted in a few of the Jagdtigers. You can't always go by what is in a Museum restoration.
You can't see much of the projectiles that are stored in its base.

Now to mount it in the hull.
After placing it in position you can slide the ammo box up to its rear end.
There's a small notch on the front of the box that fits the tab on the back of the mount like below.

Trumpeter used images of the prototype to detail their mount, and its 100% wrong for a production vehicle. The images and information I used came from UNRESTORED museum vehicles. Also, there was never an 88mm version of the Jagdtiger, its a myth!

Hi Sam.
I've been going with what information that I've had available. You posted the pics. after this post, obviously Trumpeter screwed up big time especially on a kit with a list price of $400 U.S. dollars. If you had posted the pics. with your scratch built mount I wouldn't have said anything. On a side note without plans or a cutting diogram I doubt that anyone will try to do what you have done.

Here is how I did the rear grease mount with fittings.
There are 2 parts from the Tiger II kit included in the kit. I removed them from the center braces and trimmed as shown.
I notched the ends as shown you could also just trim off the ends, maby that would have been better.
They fit just right between the Ammo Box and the sides.

I built a small holder for the Water Can out of angle stock, I'm not sure if it is seposed to be there, but it's in the Pic.
Here's the Pic. I was talking about.
You can see it to the left of the Ammo Rack. Also note the depresions in the base of the rack, they are missing in the kit part that is why you have to leave the bases of the shells that you use here off.

In this position the can may be tilted for pouring without having to remove it from its storage position.

Once again the Ammo from the museum I don't know how accurate it is.
I'm working on the other Ammo racks next. I'll let you know how they go together next.

I have the Ammo Racks assembled painted & installed.

The instructions give you a view of the back side and are very confusing .

On the left side I Installed the Water Can first then the Shells & finally the Propellant Charges .
I removed the Gun Mount.
I'll be working on the Gun next, I'm not shure how easy it will be to get it installed on the Mount so I figure it'll be easier if I don't have to deal with the Hull and everything at the same time.
I hope that this helps those of you planning on doing this build.

I have the Gun Carriage assembled and painted, their's no major problems here just a lot of clean up and fitting.
I'm working on the Breach Block next, there's a lot of filling needed there.

The Breech Block doesn't Fit, it's to big and will need to be sanded to fit.
After a lot of sanding I got it to fit, then added the end plate.
