I finally managed to get some primer and pre-shading done on the Diana. Holiday here in Oz on Wednesday - ANZAC Day - and I hope to get some more paint down in the afternoon.

That's kind of why I went with fuse wire. The 15A is stiff enough to hold it's weight but flexible enough that it should bend rather than snap something if I mishandled it.

Worked on her a bit today. Still not sure if going British or German capture with the scheme.

Quick progress update with a question. I am doing a very rough interior painting and have primed with black at this time. I know that elfenbein is the interior German color but have also read that anything under the sponson (hull) I'd guess is what they were referring to was a blue green color. Would this be true of the Sd.Kfz 222?

Hi Doug. Looking good so far.

There is still a lot of conjecture on the interior colour of the 221/222 series. One thing for certain, the interior of the side door was painted the same as the external colour, not Elfenbein.

One thing that seems relevant, is the colour goes all the way to the floor. Whether the floor is Grau-Grun, I'll leave that to your interpretation

Some good work on the armored car. Wish I knew more about the colors, but I'm not that well schooled.

Thanks for posting. The turret interior color looks like it may be black. Red oxide may be more accurate. not sure.

Official colours at the time were RAL 1001 Elfenbein and RAL 7009 Graugrün. Yes the pic shows the floor could be black, but that is the trouble with greyscale photos. It could even be grey matting as I suspect this is a very early vehicle, possibly even pre-production.

If it were me, I'd go Graugrün. Have fun working out the exact shade of that though - Google RAL 7009

Primer would be unlikely as there were sufficient stocks of paints at the time. It was not until later in the war that orders to cease painting over primer were issued.

Once the seats and every thing is in, unless you leave the door open and let light in, you are not going to see much of the floor anyway, so don't stress.

Easy kit to build, pretty much only fit issue I had was with canopy: had to sand the rearmost part bit shorter and I think that was caused by me not having the cockpit back plate mounted properly.

Gaz, that's interesting. Have to keep it in mind, because I have couple of Eduard's 109s in stash. It was bit unnerving to notice that the clear parts don't fit after painting everything.
