This looks like a really great idea for a campaign. I am mostly an aircraft modeler but have recently gotten interested in armor especially missile and rocket launchers. As I am new to this game, I was thinking that participating in this campaign would be a great motivator. I started a Modelcollect 1/72 TOS-1 with maybe about 10% progress. I have assembled and painted the wheels in black primer and have glued the missile box together but have not added any details. I have also started to dry fit some of the parts on the hull as I figure out the build strategy. Would this be acceptable to be included in the Launcher campaign? If this would be OK, I'll set the kit aside until the official start of the campaign. Thanks!
Have fun modeling

apologies people I have been away from armorama for some time due to the current uk summer were having I have struggled to get modelling done and have ended up missing completion of campaigns
ive spent more time out and wargaming than modelling
but I am back on my game now,
@Mike - regarding your Tos-1 by all means join in with that kit like you said its only 10%.
now we just need to think of a ribbon for the campaign.
cant do much on work pc atm but im thinking the good old '' big red button '' with launch written in middle of it?
I am still currently debating my build between a calliope or staghound with 60lb rockets still some time left to decide

I was just thinking of what to start next after I finish with the M1117 Guardian.
How 'bout this as my entry into the campaign?

Nah! Not allowed as entry in this campaign since it is not a launcher.
It is a "Laucher", at least that's what it says on the box
Welcome to the campaign There are some big launchers signed up already and now there is a small one as well

I was lookin' at that and thinking, "OK, it's official Robin has lost his damn mind!" I hadn't even noticed the spelling error on the box!

That goes without saying, but he is in good company with the rest of us.
Picked up the Trumpeter MLRS cheap at a swap, so the Dragon one will molder a bit longer.... Now I don't know if I want to build that, or stay with the Nebelwerfer from Lion Roar.... I can partner that with a SDKfz 11/4 Nebelkraftwagen for the proposed Logistics build... hmmmmm

Weeelll, the heat around here is slowly getting at me ...
It's not hot as Australian summers but we have had close to 30 degrees centigrade for more than a month now. At first it was warm and dry, then we got a little rain and now it is warm and humid.
There is a joke that the Swedish summer is the best day of the year. Even if it is not quite as bad as that the Swedish summers usually contain a fair amount of chilly weather and rain. Now we have had close to three months with warm and dry weather. This has resulted in large forest fires and a total ban on open fire in almost all of Sweden. No barbecues or anything including an open flame. In some towns there is also a ban on irrigation to prevent the water supply from running dry.

Since this kind of weather is not expected our homes are not equipped with air condition either. Shopping malls, office buildings, hotels et.c. have air condition but it is rare in homes. Those who have a cellar are lucky ....

A variation on the catapult theme could be a Greek or Roman war engine.
One of the first military launchers.
Something like this:

Yes, I first thought of a Ballista, but the size of the ribbon height limits what you can use, and it is difficult to get something recognisable. How is this?
To me it looks more like a dinosaur and his pile of leavings.....

Maybe leave out the "droppings" and get some free pixels to increase the length of the carriage and launcher arm?
The arm would be more horizontal, even tilted the other way, when the launcher is ready to fire so that would save a pixel or two in height.

Peter thank you some nice suggestions there. Has anyone else got any suggestions for ribbons or are we happy to make a vote on peters designs?

Joseph,
The SA-2 is a Surface-to-Air, designed to shoot down aircraft.
This campaign targets Surface-to-Surface rockets/missiles.
Anything from Nebelwerfer up to tactical ballistic missiles.
The Katyusha /Stalin Organ would be somewhere in the middle of the range. The MLRS fits perfectly.
There is a dedicated Anti-Aircraft campaign which finishes on the last day of October this year. The SA-2 would fit there.
