OK, I'm in!
Probably do one of my dragon MLRS's.
Cheers Rob.

Any objections from the campaign admin if I select another build subject?

Yes. If you want to change you have to build both!
It is not usually and issue. I have seen guys change halfway through their first build. What are you looking to change to?

I've got the HEER version of the MLRS in the stash so I'll go with that.

Mark, that‘s a nice, clean build and a great camo finish - very cool!
Richard, can‘t wait to see the digital camo on your type 63.
Chris, your first project was something else - and to think I‘ve been complaining about my Panda 2S6M Tunguska build (for the Anti-Aircraft campaign) and that it‘s kind of a bear - yeah, a cute little teddy to that angry grizzly. An M270 sounds less heart-attack inducing for sure....
Because of the looming deadline for the Tunguska, I‘ve had to take a break on my BM-27, but I‘ve gotten a lot of the chassis work done, pictures in the next few days.

Yeah, I tried doing one of those Panda Tunguska kits. Calling it a "bear" is the polite term! Mine ended up on the shelf of shame never to see the light of day again. I'm hoping Trumpy comes out with one some day!
I got the base color (tan) put on the tow vehicle for the Type 63 last weekend. Gonna try to start masking tonight. I bought a set of masks for the ZTZ-99 chinese MBT from DN Models and am going to use those. I've started shooting segments for a YouTube video on the process.

Here's what the body looks like with the base coat.
I’m going to start masking tomorrow night and paint some of the green shades over the weekend. I bought the ZTZ-99 masks from DN Models.

Glad to hear it‘s not just me having a ‘bear‘ of a time with that Tunguska.
I have the DN digital camo mask, too, but haven‘t used it yet, so I‘m looking forward to your paint job.

Moving my way down to the ground with my TOS-1, I built the main body of the vehicle. The TOS-1 is based on a modified T-72 chassis so this might look familiar to many of you.
While I am working on the wheels/tracks I can also move on to getting some color on the three major subsections that I have completed so far.
Have fun modeling!

Oops, I forgot to mention something in my post below. I decided to make my TOS-1 look a tad bit different than out of the box so I cut off the front fenders/flaps over the running gear. I came across a few photos of the TOS-1 in action in Afghanistan (?) which had their front fenders removed. This gave the vehicle a little more well used look so I went for it.

You probably could have hidden the work by not displaying the hull side and no-one would be the wiser Chris, so with 'honesty being the best policy', my vote is to say I have no issues. The Campaign Leader has the decision though.

Sorry not been on lately work is taking over my life . Some fantastic work coming along on these builds! Mark C. congrats on finishing your build already that is an impressive launcher
Chris F hopefully you get through.this build im doing the same in 1/72 scale. I will allow as youve said its the road axles and shock absorbers you can use this build as id count it as only bout 10%
I have my mlrs sitting on my bench itchig at me to get my starter pic taken and cleaning done ive had a quick look at the kit a minimal parts count so be a quick build. Just need to do some reasearch to change from us version to uk version anyone got any good references to help me get started?

Yeah that is the one I always wanted to do too. With the big tarp bundled up on the launcher top. I had a great set of walkaround pics but lost them when my drive crashed and the site I got them from doesn't exist any more.
Not too sure about the UK version as I think it had added armour for its version of the A1:
https://lockheedmartin.com/content/dam/lockheed-martin/mfc/pc/multiple-launch-rocket-system-m270/mfc-mlrs-m270-pc.pdf
This might give you some help identifying the differences between M270 and M270a1:

I was thinking exact same thing a nice big tarp on the back. I think ill leave the slat armour out of it my scratchbuilding skills are not that good to attempt that yet ha.
Thank you for the links so it seems the british havw the m270b1 delivered in 2006. I wonder if its safe to assume theyre still using the same version?

and confirmed from the army.mod.uk website regarding there equipment - MLRS they are still using the m270b1
for the purpose of my build and anyone else interested
''The state-of-the-art M270B1 Multiple Launch Rocket System, firing the M31 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) munition, is the mainstay of the British Army's deep and shaping fires capability.
The system provides pinpoint accuracy, delivering a 200 lb high explosive warhead to its target with over twice the range of other artillery systems used by the British Army. The MLRS also represents the bulk of the Army's precision fires capability, with the GPS guidance capability integral to the system and highly accurate beyond 70 KM.
The weapon system is manned by a small crew of three Gunners and is mounted on a tracked armoured launcher, which is highly robust and manoeuvrable. ''

Moving along, (pun intended ) I have been working on the road wheels while I am struggling on the overall camo scheme. I shot them with an overall dark gray color initially followed by painting the wheel hubs in the gray yellow used in the camo scheme. After a little bit of weathering, they look decent. I am also painting the treads now and should have them assembled on the wheels and lower hull soon.
