Thailand is back in business.
Small update:

Almost time to button this one up.
Did some detail painting last night, still the radio needs some detail.

More later today or tomorrow, who knows.

Buttoned up:

On to the road wheels and tracks.
Needs a lot of touch up this one, but the "repairs" can be interesting...

Until next time...

I messed up the original set of road wheels. Glad I have a 'spare set'. Get me some oven cleaner tomorrow to restore detail.

Brother came over for a visit, so nothing new for today anymore.

Thanks for the compliments. Still a lot to do. I want to finish this before December 18. I might have to go to Hospital again after Wednesday, to get my knee fixed. Hope not or better, not to long.
Tomorrow big steps can be made with this one.

Kind regards,

Robert Jan

Almost there...

Pretty happy so far.
Now I need to get some touch ups done with Dark Yellow. I already marked the spots where rust / damage to the body is shown, then put gloss on. Decals are almost done, number plates are ready, division markings and Balken Kreuz follow after gloss.
For the Anhänger little works as ropes and chains will be completed today.
The Zündapp K800 is ready and will come as last. Will show that later.
I think also that the build needs a base, so I had some plans worked out, will show later also.

Kind regards,

Robert Jan

The Zündapp K-800. Front and frame connected. This looks like a motorcycle. Brake cables need to be addressed and the Zündapp logo still to add on the tank. I love the little bugger. A very nice kit to build. Make more pictures tomorrow morning when there's real light.

See you later.

When there is real light. Zündapp K-800
Gloss coat applied. Temporary set up. Brake lines still loose, needs some weathering and, add license plate on front fender and add the leather bags.

To get an idea of size. Those bikes were rather small I think.

See you later...

Thanks Richard. Hope to finish it today, Tuesday December 17, as we speak. Base will follow later, depending on what the Doctors decide tomorrow.
Hope my knee is ok, (it feels a lot better) and I don't need surgery.

Regards,

Robert Jan

In a couple more weeks our combat engineer campaign will be at a close. Hopefully everyone's seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! You guys have posted some amazing work here! Don't forget to post a couple pics of your finished works in the campaign gallery.

If there's any interest in doing another combat engineer campaign next year I'll entertain the requests. I've already got quite a few on my schedule for 2020 but I'll still be glad to lead the campaign.

Best wishes to all and happy holidays!

Peter, that looks very, very good.
So ... I finished my project. A little later than planned, but I had fun participating in the campaign.

And it's a sequel, but it's in the working progress.

Thanks, Bogi!
With the base, I want to remind myself of techniques that will help me in one of my next campaigns. And next year will be more than interesting.

Looks great Kalin. Figures really bring a model to life.

Just one thing, the colour of the Waffenfarbe (shoulder patches) and collars should match.

They would both be either be Dark Green for early war with Black piping on the edges to denote Pioneers (Engineers), or be roughly the same colour as the uniform with Black piping for later war:

Examples (note one DAK jacket has dark Waffenfarbe, the exceptions to the rule)

Some progress on my second build for the Campaign:

The first 2 (out of 6) underwater guides constructed. The racket parts swiveled up and marked the inner limits of the submerged bridge:

All 6 underwater guides under construction:

Finished-plus some spare rackets:

Next I constructed and mounted 2 spacers, keeping the heavy duty tipping ropes aligned to their pulley systems.Added 2 cable supports per each tipping rope:

And this is how the BLG looks like from "ground" level:

I'm quite certain I won't be able to finish it ontime for this Campaign.
