Here is my Tamiya M42. It is basically a toy, so will take a lot of work to get a good build,
and hopefully will learn how to take good pictures.

Finally too pictures of the kit pieces.
Standard SdKfz 251/1 Ausf.C

The parts specific for the 251/21 'Drilling'

As a bonus, the instructions say the infantry compartment trees are not included, but they are. I wanted to use them for the old Tamiya 251/1 which had the incorrect infantry compartment (they photographed the Medical Evacuation version instead).

What about what-ifs? Sci-fi? I'm thinking something along the video game Space Invaders or particle beam mobile air defense unit...or maybe a dual mount 3.7mm flak on a Panther chassis
If not, no big deal.

Progress update
I glued everything in few main sub assemblies, then tried something new. I wanted to replicate color chipping on the wooden cargo bed planking but the problem is that there is no wood grain effect on them. For some time I was thinking how to overcome this problem. Normally, when replicating wood, I sand of plastic with coarse sanding paper and it works fine for me. But that is hard to do on model, since there are some unapproachable places and details which could be damaged. So, I masked of what should be metal on model and applied undiluted acrylic paint with shortened stiff brush. This one.
and keep on pulling brush in the direction of wood grain as it drys. Result is not that visible before applying wash.

But, after wash

And finally with paint

It looks ok.
So, Blitz before base color

And after, which is where I am now.

Chris, thanks.
Don, I am learning this time too. I am really happy when I find a way to resolve something what I see as a problem. Especially when method is easy and fast.

Finally got a chance to work on my flak truck. The engine and undercarriage parts went together with no problems. The flatbed is a bit warped, but not that noticeable and especially when the flak is in place.

Part of the coal burning unit. Primed with some additional parts pre instructions added.
I love all the entries so far. This will be an exceptional campaign. Hope everyone is having fun.
Cheers,
chuck

Hi all. Just noticed this campaign. Enlisted and I'm in with these two.
Already made a start with the Sonder Anhänger 202 for the the Bronco kit. But there is another one in the Dragon, so one complete build to comply with the rules I guess. Will post some pictures when there is progress.
Looking forward to build some real guns.
Kind regards,
Robert Jan

Bogi, nice job. I look forward to the development.
Robert, a wonderful choice. For me, Bronco's Flak.41 is number one.
In a few days I get involved.
Good luck to all.

Great work on your builds guys. I have a couple of questions about campaigns.
1) Do you blog the entire build in this blog, or just a few progress pics?
2) Can you do a separate blog then post a few progress pics here?
I see so many folks that have entered but only a few posting here. Most of the people who have entered can't be like me and never finish anything.
Thanks
Shawn
