Hmm the bad news is I’m sorry Glenn but for me the ivy’s way outta whack colo*rwise…but good news – possibly like Erwin’s wife I think mine wants to have your babies…even better news that ain’t gonna happen for sooo many reasons. Best news is this is still one of the most awesome constructions I’ve ever seen

Soooooo ironically enough I've got a bottle of acrylic Folkart " old ivy " , thought it would be a bear painting them but as it turned out not so much , problem solved .
Oh and what's with the wife stuff , you married them , I got my own little kommandant , lol . Besides she's still a little peed I bought the Jeep , yet she took it to work today !!!!!

Crazy…the crazed paint on that corner support in photos 21 & 22 of this batch of 28…just stop it you’re doing my head in!! The ivy looks much better in most lights - maybe it’s the artificial light that still makes it go that acid-y green in a few? All that’s missing are some PE butterflies & bees. But seriously Glenn do you think this is the best building you’ve ever made? If not show us what beats it although I doubt anyone will agree with you

Thanks Tim , in regular room light it's a lot darker . There's also the FM camera phone that my son uses that somehow makes everything very brilliant , colorwise .
I must say this is the first build that I made that followed the blueprints in my melon from the start and what I envisioned then is exactly what I've got now .

Only problem now is , friends and my sons friends all want me to build them something .
My son's girlfriend wants a Hogwarts Slytherin common room !!
Others want scenes from video games , The last of us II , Days gone , Fallout , Skyrim , etc , and they're offering me large money to do them , friggin crazy !!

I did promise my son's girlfriend to do the Slytherin common room , so that may be next .
I'm wondering if that would be accepted here ?

Well we'll see . I did promise so I have to build it . Just don't know if there will be any interest here for it .
The biggest problem is finding an Alan Rickman " Snape " figure of three inch or so size to build around . Most " good " representations of him are six or seven inches tall , way to big to build a Gothic like room around .

Hi Cheyenne,

You could be making a living from this, your builds are magnificent, and would be worth every penny/cent...can't bring myself to mention the european currency, ...and more, .

JR , G , thanks guys and Erwin thanks for the dissertation on currency , lol .
I just got a new Canon Power Shot . I need to play with the lighting , pics are too bright . Much better tho than my Canon antique Power Shot point and shoot . Yet not as good as my sons phone for vivid color and auto light adjustment , hopefully I can correct that with the settings .
I might get away with less direct lighting , I'll try that next .
Don't get me wrong I'm not happy enough to be singing Zippidy Do Dah out of my a hole , by much happier than using my old camera .

It is hard to see what you added, if you do not point it out, it is so complex!!!

Looking forward to your rendition of the gatehouse!!!

Beautiful prototype building you are taking on there. I subscribe to a few pages on FB covering castles and fortifications. These chateux come up occasionally and the reference pics are very helpful and also very cool.
Looking forward to how you handle all those challenging decorative shapes.

Wow! how many superlatives can one use to praise this build, truly outstanding, .

And, as with the others, I am definitely looking forward to the gatehouse build.

Cheers, ,
