Just a tip... you can't start building until the campaign start date. Anything you have on the bench now is ineligible.
Awww come on. Give a guy a break. There is no way for me to finish a kit in under 4 months. If we are going to hold to that rule, I'm going to have to back out. Heck, I couldn't build a sandwich in 4 months, much less a complete model. :-)

I would say that this is quite fundamental rule of all Armorama campaigns: to build a kit from the start to finish during the campaign running time. Usually weathering is not required, so you can leave this lengthy process to after the campaign end. If we don't stick to this rule campaigns would not be group builds, but rather "show us your a model of ..." forum threads.
Well, at least that's my opinion on the subject.
Oh, by the way - I think I will join this campaign
, but it will depend on the final dates when it is finally approved.

Has this been approved yet? Sorry to keep asking, but it's September now and I don't want to miss the beginning of the campaign.

I sent two emails to the campaign staff and re-submitted the campaign suggestion and still nothing, no reply from Armorama's staff....I guess the modelling gods just dont want this campaign to happen...
worst case - we can have an unofficial campaign, post our builds and everything in a thread.

There are no campaigns until 2006 and it's already filling up fast.

Howdy Elad,
Count me in on the build also. I've got a M48A3 in the works that'll work great with this build.

Hmmm - I haven't received any e-mails or PM's. At any rate, there will be no Campaigns approved for 2005 - as has been stated in this thread. Yes, '06 is chock-full-o-stuff too - but there's a lot of interest for this one.
I wouldn't worry about it - providing the dates work out...

I agree and would not worry about this campaign not happening. Rank does have its privileges and with several key staff members showing interest....

Hi Elad!
I'd gladly participate in the campaign, but the only kit of patton that I have awailable (italeri's M47) was build a long time ago and about a year ago I decided to redo it. It now sits on the shelf with turret stripped of paint and with hull awaiting stripping. Would such old redone kit be eligible for the campaigne???
Cheers
Pedro

Pedro,
I'd prefer that you build a new Patton from the ground up as this would be fair to the other participants who take part in the campaign.
however, as this is not a contest but a group build and if you by no means have the chance of getting a Patton kit in order to enter the campaign then you can enter the existing M47 as long as you paint/weather it according to the campaign time schedule.
good luck!

I'll see what I can do in terms of getting the new Patton for the campaign. It would be preferably 'Nam era Patton or M26- M46.
Cheers

I am doing this and another campaign concurrently and they will both be my first so I am looking forward to it.

I thought OBG - PATTON would be a pretty popular campaign idea when I approved it - but didn't think 18 members would signup so quickly! Nice to see, and looking forward to the models.
Can't hardly wait to cut plastic!

Man I LOVE Patton tanks. I very much would love to participate, but I am enrolled in the Flattop campaign and am undertaking an immense project with My Lexington conversion. The start time is the same and I anticipate soemthing in the vicinity of 4 months to complete it. If I have time left over, I'll pull something from the stash and participate in this one for sure. After all Georgie did go to VMI for a year.
