Hey,
I didnt get much feedback when I brought the subject up on the Campaign Central Command forum so I thought here it might reach a bigger audiance.
the idea is very simple, build any vehicle from the Patton family be it M-46/47/48/60 of any kind and nation including the various foreign upgrades (such as the proposed Turkish M-60 hull with Abrams turret or the Israeli Sabra 120mm conversion export upgrade etc. etc.).
the Patton family "spiritual fathers'"- the T-26E1 and M-26 Pershings are also valid for this campaign.
starting date will be somewhere in Aug. '05 and end date will be Jan. '06
if you are intrested reply in the thread because I need at least 10 participants in order to make this campaign happen.
all feedback, campaign name/slogan suggestions and banner & award designs are more than welcomed.
cheers
Elad.

I have an M-26 Pershing that needs to be finished and this campaign would probably provide the needed inspiration.
I would be interested!

I'm interested. Would it also include variants such as the M88 series recovery vehicle, M247 Sgt. York ADA vehicle, AVLB, CEV, etc.?
As to a name, how about "Ol' Blood n'Guts"? OBG for short.

I'd be in for "OBG" (Ol' Blood 'n Guts) too - sounds like it's potentially an interesting one and a lot of vehicles to choose from...

Robin,
the campaign will include every vehicle based on a Patton (or Pershing) chassis so the M728 CEV, AVLB bridgelayer, M-60A2 Starship, M-88A1/A2, Sgt. York, Magach family, south Korean Pattons, M-103 etc. are all welcomed, it doesnt have to be a gun tank to qualify and I think that would give the campaign more diversity and fun.
btw, why "Ol' Blood N' Guts"? was that a nickname for Gen. Patton?

Yes, it was his nickname, although his troops would comment, "His guts, our blood!"

I have always loved the Patton family of AFV's. I'd Love to join depending on what is going on in my life. Between work and life its all chaos. I hope to be moving this summer so I may get in there late. I have several M60's laying around. So cound me in if life doesn't get in the way. I will not sign up till I know I can finish.

I have an Italeri M47 gathering dust on the shelf. It's been there for almost 2 years. This could be a good reason to build it now.

first, we have a campaign name: Ol' Blood N' Guts.
hats off to Sabot- thats a very fitting name for our campaign and the cool thing is that it catched on with everybody instantly so from now on the Patton campaign will be refered to as OBG.
I'm also glad to announce that we passed the ten participants minimum.
in order to make everybody's participation assured I want to know if there is anyone who wishes to change the starting and/or ending dates of the campaign?
I plan to submit the campaign for the cosideration of the campaign managment team before the weekend.

Isn't there a moratorium on campaigns until later in 2005? There were a lot of campaigns awaiting approval that got deleted waiting for some of the active campaigns to finish. Too many times extensions were running into proposed campaigns.
You might want to check with the staff

Does anyone have any thoughts about allowing some other Patton related kits like a Patton figure or the Skybow/AFV Club Patton command car or the Italeri M3 White Scout Car done in Patton's N. Africa markings? I'm not married to this idea, just kicking it into the ring for some discussion.
Remember to allow various scales like 1/72, 1/48, 1/50, 1/32, 1/35, 1/16, etc.
Yes, there are Patton tank model kits in the above listed scales. With the exception of the 1/16 scale Tamiya M26 Pershing, I have Patton kits in the above scales.

Yes - this is true. Think 2006 for this proposal.
