A photo of the type of vehicle you are modeling was the original plan John, just to prove it did exist and is not a figment of our imaginations LOL. :-)

So it is really up to Jeff as leader to comfirm, but I think the photo idea should remain as above and markings (if any) do not have to match the picture.

cheers

The campaign is already set up. The original name of Wheels, Move it again was the one so leave it be. Just have fun building.

So far I've got the TM 9-2800 style pictures of both hard & soft cab versions.

I'm still looking for an actual "Shop Van In Action" photo but not having any luck !!! If anyone has some, let me know ....

I do have the 2-1/2 TM 9-801 inbound as well as a manual on the M16 Machine Shop Load A setup so I should be well covered in Ordnance Corps classroom photo materiel if nothing else ....

And don't ask me now what Load A is -- there were apparently six different machine shop configurations & I picked one .... If it doesn't match what I want I might try one of the other configs ...

Interesting in my research that I found these vans became very popular as command vans & housing for generals & contributed to the shortage of machine shops .... I suspect al lot of these were however the ST-6 van & not the earlier ST-5 that I have ....

By the way:
-- are we gonna get a Campaign slot or just run this as a message thread ?
-- do we want to run one thread for all, or individual ?
I'm going to start posting basic kit pictures to My Gallery over the next couple weeks.

Okay, sorry I've been away...internet problems.

Here is the idea. I agree with the general consensus that "Wheels: Move It Again" should stay. I am assuming (hopefully correctly) that Chad (GeneralZod) was more or less joking with the name "convoy."

Now that that is cleared here is an expanded version of the photo idea. The original idea is to expand a little in a campaign and do some research in addition to building your model so as to learn a little more about the vehicle you are replicating. If you are doing a complete OOB kit, just do a google and find an image of the vehicle (example: if one was doing a Tamiya GMC 2 1/2 ton, they'd find a picture of a GMC 2 1/2 ton and post it with their model). If you are adding accessories (like gear on the sides or interior), try to base it off an image (though this is not required).

For those that are converting or scratchbuilding a little something more than your baseline kit, this is what the original idea had in mind. If you building a guntruck - for example - this is where you should have a photo. Anyone who has looked at Animal's forum posts on his latest guntruck generally does this. The ideas here are endless.

Any questions on this are more than welcomed.

As for a campaign slot, we are an official campaign. The link to the campaign page is below.
Wheels: Move It Again!

We don't start until January 1st. At such times I will open up an official thread, where you can post a quick update and a picture or two, plus your finished model. Otherwise use an open thread under the Campaign forum, with "Move It Again campaign" or Wheels campaign." I will be doing a Wheels update about half way through the campaign and near the end to see where everyone stands. This helps me keep track of who has finished or not. Some of you may remember this from the original Move It!

Now that business is out of the way, have fun and have a happy Holidays!

Jeff:

Thanks for the info.

I asked about posting & etc, because the campaign slots have been slow to match actual campaigns, see the number of oldies & number of new ones not represented ...

So, if on 1 Jan, there is no slot ????

By slot, do you mean the group association under the campaign forum? If so, I haven't looked into it. Something to ask Guntruck about.

I believe what he is asking is if the campaign is going to appear here:
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=SquawkBox&file=index&req=viewforum&forum_id=35&page=1
Like in the old days.

There were several campaigns this past year that didn't get a billing located on the top where the check marks are located.

Oh - if that's the question - then the answer is likely - No.

I do not have the administrative access to create sub groups like that - and never have. It hasn't been a high priority to create them since that initial batch.

What I noticed works well is when members start their own threads to post progress on an entry - and - title the thread correctly:

OBG-PATTON: M60 MBT

The above is an example of what I'm entering into the "Ol' Blood & Guts - PATTON" Campaign at the beginning of 2006. If the members would put the name of the Campaign (or accepted abbreviation since some of the titles are long) and the entry - then this works out fine and takes the place of the sub grouping.

The idea for sub grouping hasn't been totally shelved, however. It may yet see the light of day - the "mega-threads" where participants all post their images aren't really attractive to the greater membership body either...

Lord Zod, I knee knee.
You yourself could do a "convoy" of many trucks. (++) (++)

Its been done and could easily be done again. Dave (DaveCox) in the original Move It! had something like 10 entries (well, on second thought, not so easily done, but all the same plausible)

I will be doing this CMP (Canadian Military Pattern) tipper (dump truck) hard at work in the pacific in 1945. I will pose the truck with the tip body in the raised position in fact I am copying the photo missing right front mudguard (fender) and all!

I will use the Italeri Chevrolet 15cwt kit as a base kit and scratch the rest. (Italeri kit # 233)

OK... after much thought, and consideration, and reconsideration, I have now reached a decision of doing a truck, of the cargo carrier type. But one that is totally out of character for me. Can't wait to start.....

Well with much regret, I missed the last Move It Campaign.. Hopefully for this new one there wont be a repeat. This is my selection for the ROO dedication. I have purchashed the Italeri kit, I have a few after market detail sets in my stash. I have also collected the needed referance. So I think Im ready to go. Caint wait till we kick it OFF

Hi guys,

Can't wait for the campaign to start. Ive got the Italeri Closed Cab GMC with a 1/35 Construction Battalion Tipper Conversion.
Then hopefully I will be able to get to the GMC w/ Set No. 7 Wrecker too.
