BTW anyone else is more than welcome to join in.

Okay, now we need to figure out how we want to do this. First we need to figure out how we want to do this. We can either do this as a pure and simple sequal to Move It! or we can go a little more in-depth to try out our modelling skills. The in-depth version is outlined by Treadhead and Mr Roo here: Truck campaign proposal. Roo's version simply stated is:

- ANY softskin vehicle with 2 or more wheels. Any era, any nationality.
- NOTE 1 - NO tracks allowed...so sorry Opel Maultiers and other half tracks are out.
- NOTE 2 - SAS Jeeps guntrucks etc. allowed
- All entries must have documented proof with them. Either a photo or written 'official' document proving they existed.
- All must have been originally designed as a personnel or cargo carrying vehicle.

The benefit about going this route is that it is something different from the normal OOB campaign. The downside is that it could have the potential to turn away some of the newer modellers.

The choices are up to all of you as it is just as much your campaign as anyone elses. I will gather the consensus at the end of the weeks and then we can decide on a name.

I'm still intrested - but I need some time.
Jan. till June or maybe Feb. till July?

Also I like the Roo's original proposal.

Jeff

Jeff it will not turn anybody off because if you want to do an OOB kit of say a GMC-CCKW 6X6 you just need to google search and download one of the hundreds of pics on the net of a GMC 6X6. same for a jeep or an Opal Blitz or any other OOB kit availiable.

You also missed my name in the original list. I will do one for it but am not sure what at this time. I may even do an OOB for a change. You know something like a Polish Ursus or similar LOL (yes S Models of Poland do a kit of this in Vacc form and resin)

cheers

1.) Sweet, and so noted and 2.) my apologies for missing your name, how could I have forgotten? So changed.

I also am going to bold names of those who reconfirm their status since most acceptances were made in June.

Neo, I'm thinking along the lines of February 1, 2006 to October 31, 2006.

Would you care to elaborate on that? I am not sure what you mean. If not then is there a time that you might suggest?

Nothing is set in stone - yet. We're discussing all proposals for 2006 Campaigns at this time. The more flexible dates are - the better for getting them established and launched next year...

Jeff:
Thanks for steppiung up to run this thing.

I'll confirm my original sign-up.

I don't care about start date, later & longer is better.
I don't care if it is Campaign or Group Build.

In the original thread, I queried 'Roo about the "cargo & personnel" thing which seemed to exclude wreckers, shop vans, and all sorts of wheeled things & he supplied a "well, what the wrecker recovers could be considered cargo..." so as long as we're doing "wheeled vehicles" and not hung up on "cargo/personnel", then I'm in ...

My 3 candidates are (all WW2):
-- Diamond-T wrecker (resin)
-- Autocar Tractor Wrecker (resin)
-- 2-1/2 Shop Van (Tamiya & resin)

I'll pick one later ...

it is correct as wreckers are accually cargo trucks as they pic up cargos of wrecked vehicles etc. Shop trucks etc carry specialist repair tools so they carry cargo as well so you see there really are few exceptions to the proposal except that you have to prove the vehicle did exsist. Even missle trucks count as they carry the missles as a cargo.

Of course I'll be building something.....
Since I do mainly mighty manly softskins...... DOH.......
But it dosen't matter to me whether it's an "Official Campaign" or a good old fashion group build. I'll still be doing a truck....... :-)

If it ends up being a good old fashion group build I have already bribed a member of staff to make the group build banner........

I submitted the campaign entry. It'll be around 2 weeks to hear if we have been accepted or not. What it basically states is as follows:

The idea behind this campaign is somewhat of a continuation of Move It! in honor of our fellow truck modeller Cliff Hutchings (MrRoo). This is a general campaign that includes all cargo carrying type vehicles, (Edit:) including civilian style trucks and cargo vehicles.

All entries must have documented proof to accompany it. When you post your finished model, just include a copy of a photo. For OOB models, do a Google search for your model. The impression to be made here is to do a little research and learn a little history about what you are recreating.

- First and foremost, have fun and learn something new.
- ANY cargo vehicle with 2 or more wheels. Any era, any nationality.
- NOTE 1 - NO tracks allowed...so sorry Opel Maultiers, M2/M3, and other half tracks are out. Also wheeled APCs (LAVs for example, unless it is cargo carrying only, such as the LAV-C2 (Command and Control)) are out. If it is offensive in nature, it will not be accepted
- NOTE 2 - SAS Jeeps, guntrucks, etc. allowed
- All must have been originally designed as a personnel or cargo carrying vehicle.

Multiple entries accepted, however only one ribbon is awarded at the end of the campaign
I will design a ribbon, to be approved by the members of the campaign.

Any questions and/or concerns feel free to reply her or contact me: open-door policy applies here.

Thanks for taking the leading role Jeff. Like Animal I can't wait to start either and I do not mind if it is only a group build either.

Also thanks for the honor you do me with this proposal.

Cliff, just fufilling my promise to do another campaign like this. If you think I should be doing anything or missed something, please let me know. This is my first full campaign and I want to make sure I do it right.

Definitely Chad. I don't think I mentioned it, but civilian cargo is MORE than welcome. I will try to add that to the rules.

Also, I forgot to mention the proposed name:

Wheels: Move It Again!

Thank you Jeff for taking over the leadership.
Count me in. I plan to build a Autocar 7144 with a 12,5 ton semitrailer and a DUKW as load. Therefore I'd like to start as soon as possible. Otherwise i like to see the finish time late in 2006, because during summer there will be not much time for modelling .

happy modelling
Harald
