Sorry to hear of your pain, Joe. I hope you are able to bear it, and help your family to bear it as well. In this situation, I'm sure all those questions such as 'why?' must make it even harder, and I hope that some day your questions will be answered. I'm not so good at prayer, but you will be in my thougts today as I have a drink for you and wish you peace.

Well I finally got Maryann into bed. I went down stairs to get a cup of coffee and saw that it was snowing. Now I’ve seen it snow here all my life, but tonight’s snow is so different than I’ve seen before. The flakes are large and peacefully falling to the ground. It’s like…gracefully surreal, a Thomas Kinkade painting.

Joe that is truly tragic news and I echo others in sending my condolences. I am a psychotherapist and deal with this sort of thing from both sides: those who want to commit suicide and those affected by it. As you are painfully aware there are numerous feelings associated with this kind of tragedy and they can become overwhelming. If I may, I would suggest you talk to a professional trained in grief counselling even if it is for one session. You and your family, especially your daughter might find it very helpful. I am glad to hear that you have supportive people around you which is ultimately the most important part of healing.

Joe,

I'm not sure how to say what I want to say.......but my thoughts are with you and everyone who knew your son in law......

Unfortunately I know the feeling...as you know, almost a year ago (next feb) a friend of mine commited suicide as well....and I also know it was good to get support from friends and family.....

Just don't know what to say

Martin

Joe, my heart goes out to you and your family. No one should ever have to go through this. When you told me this terrible news,I was at a lose for words. I still am. I do pray that your daughter Katie pulls through this most traumatic time.
If there is anything at all that I can do, call.
