Hi all...
After sitting back and letting the recent changes soak in I can honestly say I'm thrilled at the way things have developed.
And now Aeroscale has soft launched I am a very happy little teddy.
And now we have Railway Modelling too. Great news. I've just spotted and read JPTRR's reviews on Railroad Modelling accessories. Excellent.
I think I can now begin to see where all Jim's and the backroom boys hard work is taking us...a sort of department store of modelling with all types and areas of our hobby represented. A place were any modeller can come and find info, data, advise and most importantly comadre.
I just get the feeling Armorama in its now many guises is bound for even greater and better things. Well done everyone.
I'm home.
Cheers
Peter
:-)
PS I'd draw the line at forming a knitting circle though ...lol.

I agree with you Peter, all the way.
At first, I didn't really know what to think of the many changes being made here. "How will this turn out in the end" "Is this the right path" etc. I must admit my bad feeling(how ever small) have been proved wrong. Things are working very well this way.
Jim and staff have worked very hard on this and all their hard work have definitely paid of.
Now I'm just looking forward to the new A-guard subscription system.
You might want to reconsider that knitting circle Peter. Perhaps knitting camo nets, will be the next big thing :-)
Thanks all, for a new and better modeling site.

Hi Jesper
Now you're talking...bl**dy small needles though :-) :-) :-)
Still, if we can master knitting camo nets at such small scales what next?...wooly underwear for WW1 aviators...it gets a bit brass monkeys in an open cockpit :-)
Cheers

Jim:
You've done a good job. Site is looking good. There are alot more features now and I find it easier to navigate. The latest posts for each sub group on the right hand side was a great idea. Keep it up Chief.

Hi all!
There is even a Latest Network post button for those who like it the "good old way"! What more can you ask!
I think Jim really knows his stuff and did a great job with the KitMaker Network.

Thanks guys! It's good to hear you think we are on the right path.
I am always open to hearing suggestions as well.
I made some changes to the Reviews page over the weekend. I hope everyone likes the new interaction options there and also hope people start doing their own reader reviews of the items they have experience with.
And as for this "stock" taking... hmmm.... I would rather have some "stock" buying!! :-) :-) :-)
Cheers,
Jim

Well, I'm personally happy to see the modellers with interest other than tanky things, finally have a room of their own to decorate their way, in the Armorama house. (it's also fun to visit them..... :-) )

Well, since you ask
I was thinking about a Wikipedia type thing; "Armopedia" or something :-) . Only registered users of the site would be allowed to submit content (to stop the kind of silliness that can happen at the real Wikipedia) but non-reg users could refer to it. I know that the forums and features are searchable, but they are not specifically designed to be searchable so it's not always easy to find the exact answer you want to your question, and the wikipedia bit could contain direct links to the relevant features.
It would also be a valuable resource to new members who want to look up a specific term. I've been a member here for only a couple of years but still see recurring questions in the forums: Filters, Future / Kleer, choice of airbrush, zimmerit. It would also allow some basics (Enamels vs acrylics vs oils for instance) to be covered in a way probably not appropriate elsewhere.
I don't have the skills for the technical side, but would be happy contribute tin terms of monitoring content, spelling, etc. if you felt this was a good idea.
Thanks again for all your (and the Staff team in general's) work

I need some woollen 'Hebron' coats for Long Range Desert Group figures - if someone could work out how to skin 1:35 scale desert goats. :-)

It's not difficult, you just need a 1:35 desert goat skinner.
