It's been a fair few weeks since we have had anything announced from Concord , however, with the look of these two new publications, the wait has all been worthwhile.....
Both the new books cover German vehicles of WWII. That said, both perform a very different function. Both books are however written with the modeller very much in mind....
The first of the new books, serves a useful function, dealing as it does with a highly complex subject - identification of vehicle models/variants, unit organization, tactical markings and camouflage:
7053 PANZER VOR! German Armor at War 1939-45 by Frank V. De Sisto is a 72 page book which contains no less than 175 photos and 16 color plates. The ISBN is 962-361-090-4. The book's title may suggest that it is a huge subject to cover in such a relatively small book, however, Frank De Sisto with his other books has more than frequently demonstrated an ability to really 'pack' the information in....
The second book covers a subject which is very attractive for many modellers and also is not over-represented in the more accessible books such as those by Concord:
6516 - SS-Artillerie-Regiment 4, SS-Polizei-Division: A Study of German Artillery by Gordon Rottman & Stephen Andrew is a 52 page book which contains 141 photos and 4 color plates. The book's ISBN is 962-361-107-2....
The book's focus is very tight indeed. It concentrates on SS-Artillerie-Regiment 4 & SS-Flak-Abteilung 4. Even if these units are NOT being modelled, the book serves as a useful source for ALL German (Divisional) field Artillery.
The book covers the Regiments combat history from the invasion of France, thru Barbarossa and culminating in the final battles of 1945....
These and the (many) other Concord titles, can be seen on the company website, a link to which is provided below:
