Accurate Armour continue with their impressive releases with two new items in both 1/35th scale and 1/76th. Although the latter is not a scale we tend to associate with the company, the choice of scale becomes quickly apparent...
A year or two ago, the Scottish manufacturer, Accurate Armour caused a sensation by producing an LCT (4) in both 1/76th and 1/35th scale. Now thay have announced an LCT (5) in 1/76th scale as well... The second release is equally exciting - the British HAA 3.7" Gun in 1/35th scale...
G002 - 1/35th Scale British 3.7 Inch HAA Gun £68.08 (Export) £79.99 (EU, UK)
This comprehensive 1/35th scale model by Leon Hassing & Derek Hansen depicts the famous 'Three-seven' AA Gun. This was the standard UK WW-2 Heavy AA Gun, similar to the German '88' in some respects, but not intended as a multi-role weapon
This all resin model can be depicted in firing or transport mode, and Limber Mk-2, and Carriage Mk-2 are included, as is a 10 piece 3.7" ammunition set comprising HE, Shrapnel and APCBC-T rounds. An extensive etched brass detail set is also included. Also included are decals for all the Ammunition, and unit markings for AA Regiments of 1st, 2nd & 8th Army, 21st Army Group and post-war AA Command, bridge plates & battery markings. Full colour instructions are included.
The second release is:
S18 - 1/76th Scale LCT(5) Tank Landing Craft £127.65 (Export) £149.99 (EU, UK)
This extensive 1/76th scale resin and etched brass model by Dan Taylor & Rob Tearle depicts the standard WW2 Allied LCT(5) Tank Landing Craft.
This US designed craft was smaller than it's LCT(4) companion, and was used on all the D-Day invasion beaches to carry mixed loads of AFV's, 'soft-skin' vehicles and stores. It was also used throughout the world in all campaigns by the US Navy, with many surviving in service for decades.
Optional parts are included for both US Navy and Royal Navy use, and a further fittings set (S19) is available to make the British Royal Marines Armoured Support Group (RMASG) version. The model is packed with fine detail including 20mm cannon, bow ramp 'fingers', exhaust system, lifebelts and even buckets! Decals are included for specific D-Day Invasion craft on Omaha, Utah, Juno and Sword beaches, and the invasion of Elba. The tank eating crocodile comes from the US Navy in the Med', and many other schemes are possible in the Pacific.
