Every month, Concord Publications Company brings us yet another useful book for Armor or Figure modellers. This month, they have gone a step further by producing one specifically for Armor and another which will be equally useful for Figure or Diorama buillders....
Two new books have been announced by Concord - one for WW2 and the other specifically geared for those who have interest in Modern Armor and conflicts....
The two new books are:
6509 - Stalingrad Inferno - The Infantryman's War ('WARRIOR' SERIES):
ISBN 962-361-079-3 is written by Gordon Rottman and illustrated by Ronald Volstad. The book consists of 52 Pages, 135 photos with 4 Color Plates.
The book concentrates (sensibly enough) on images from one of the two warring sides - in this case the Germans. This would seem to imply that a second book is in the works covering the Soviet forces. Following the usual format, the emphasis is very much on images and follows this decisive battle chronologically from August 1942 until the German surrender in February 1943....
The second release from Concord is very different in its subject content:
7815 - ASSAULT: Journal of Armored & Heliborne Warfare Vol. 15
ISBN 962-361-122-6 is written by various authors and consists of 48 pages, 166 color photos and a series of 1/35th scale plans.
The book consists of four seperate articles which are:
1) German Recon Vehicle Fennek - an article on the Bundeswehr's brand new Fennek reconnaissance vehicle.
2) Battle Griffin in Norway - a report of the multinational LIVEX which took place in winter 2005.
3) Flugabwehrbrigade 100 - a profile of an air-defense brigade within the Bundeswehr. This unit possesses three principal weapon systems - the Gepard, Roland and Ozelot - all of which are featured in this report.
4) 1/35 scale profiles of the Scimitar
