The ASU-57 was a light anti-tank vehicle that may be air-dropped together with troops during airborne operations. Lightly armored, the vehicle mounted a 57mm gun and powered by the engine used on the GAZ-M-20. Built by Mytishchi Machine-building Factory (MMZ), it is estimated that around 500 units were produced until 1962.
Russian ASU-57 Airborne Tank Destroyer (83896) contains more than 300 parts. It features individual track links and photo-etched details. Also included is a decal sheet to finish the vehicle in either Soviet or Egyptian service. The built model measures 135.8mm long and 65.3mm wide.
