Thingy by thingy Plus Models is recreating the world in 1/35th scale.

Probably a stupid question, but is it safe to say these are post war gas pumps?

Am I right to think this "BENSIN" on the pumps suggests Norway and Sweden only?

Bad translation....Benzin is German for gas and in the US there wouldn't be anything in that placard area...maybe Mobilegas from period photos if it was a Mobile Station

Is / was "OTTO" typically used to mean gasoline in Germany or was this just slang created by US soldiers? And yes, were not people still using the "visible" gas pumps with the glass tank on top during the war years? Metering pumps like these were not yet invented????

Looks a lot like a typical late '40's to present rural US small-time gas station.

Not the same, but it reminds me of this one preserved in Sweden : On a side note, the Plus Model one has a "rauchen verboten" sign visible behind the right pump. The logo looks like the prewar one : H.P.
