This tractor was a mobile electric generator and the trailers were "pulled" by providing electric power to the trailers own electric engines. It could also run on rails. The idea actually started back in 1908 when Herr Porsche designed the A-zug, gasoline engine driving a generator and the generator provides power to electric motors in the generator unit and in the "trailers". The mobile powerplant also had the steering wheels so it was needed to steer and control the "trailers". Clever idea actually
