I think the L58 barrel adds ten feet to the existing barrel, allowing for ranges of 70KM with rocket-assisted projectiles. I think the new technology will come from the ammunition. I don't believe there is much that can be done to the existing form besides electronics upgrades. Crusader is said to have tested well at 40 tons before it was cancelled.

I wonder if the CROWS 2 is present on all M109A7? There are guns over here for Atlantic Resolve that have the pintle mounted .50 cal.

M992A3 should be easy to convert from the A7 hull. The super-structure looks like an easy scrathbuild compared with the M992 A2.

I think the pintle mount is the standard fitting and the CROWS II can be fitted for combat use. The kit comes with both options. Hopefully it will be out soon. Panda/Kitty Hawk said it would be available in April.

Yeah, that's a nice looking machine. And I would definitely love to see the resupply vehicle with it. And a boatload of styrene rounds and charges too.
