Does anyone make the telephone truck body conversion for the WWII Weapons Carrier chassis? What was this trailer most often pulled by? Jeep, WC or Deuce and a Half?

These are really nice, especially as it can be posed open. Is this a variant of the ammo trailer?

I'm afraid that NO ONE has deigned to make the "Telephone Truck" Body conversions for the Dodge "WC-series", OR to produce the Chevrolet 1 1/2-Ton 4x4 Panel Truck, which would make an AWFULLY NICE set of new US WWII Soft-skins. I believe there was a Romanian resin kit maker that offered the KW-series Chevy Panel Truck, (Or was it the "Suburban"?), at one time. I don't know, I haven't seen them around in a while... Anyone know? BTW, the Chevrolet 1 1/2-tonner KW-series 4x4 was produced in the most commonly seen "Cargo-truck" variety, and there were also the "Suburban-style Body", the "Telephone" Panel Truck, as an Ambulance, based on the Panel Truck Body, AND as a "Command"-version, which was based on the "Suburban" Body- WHAT a nice set of "different" kits THAT would make, too... Resin/multi-media kits of the Chevy KW-series1 1/2-ton Cargo-version are available, but, HOO-BOY!!! Be prepared to dig DEEP into your wallet!!! An all-new WWII WC54 Ambulance would ALSO be nice, rather than having to monkey-around with kit-bashing the old ITALERI/TESTORS Ambulance Body/Windshield Posts and Nose with one of the AFV CLUB WC-series Chassis, Wheels/Tires, Drive-Train, etc... The Ambulance Body also requires some modifications in order to "accuratize" it... You hear me, AFV CLUB??? The little K-38 Trailer was usually pulled by Jeeps- They were intended for "light" jobs... Anyone know if these are being retailed yet? And if so, what are their cost..?

Been thinking for a long time about doing a WC-59. The tool body should not be that hard to scratch. I think the chassis was 8-10 inches longer than the regular WC.

Well I guess I was limiting my conversion plans to using one or the other for the existing standard length Weapons Carrier models in 1/35th as a starting point. Using any of these would require the builder to lengthen the basic frame by about the thickness of the spare tire as the spare on the telephone truck is carried right behind the driver's seat and in front of the tool box body. Using the ambulance as a starting point would require extensive rebuilding of the cowl and windshield.
