Tamiya have released the Japanese 4x4 light vehicle "Kurogane," as kit TAM32558 in their 1/48 Military series.
An interesting vehicle the Kurogane was an all Japanese designed 4x4 reconnaissance vehicle first manufactured in 1935. It had a 4-stroke, 2-cylinder V-I-A-F 1399-cc air-cooled gasoline engine and approximately 4,800 were built by the end of the war.
This is an all-plastic kit with a choice of open or closed top. The kit comes with a driver figure and a standing officer.

This would be even more welcome if Tamiya were to offer a scaled up version in 1/35 scale as well.
HLJ are showing it at $12.26.
