AFV Club have just sent us the first images of their (forthcoming) Churchill and their latest in the 251 Series.
Little new to add about the Churchill III except that this is the boxart for one of of the most-awaited kits in 20 years. The fact that they've published the illustration is encouraging news. I'll be checking to get at least a provisional release date...
The second announcement:
AF35S47 - Mittlerer Funkerpanzerwagen Sd.Kfz. 251/3 (Ausf. D) Should, for anyone who likes very different subjects, be great news indeed. The 251/3 is an extremely versatile subject as no less than FIVE (principal) sub-variants were used at all levels for communication:
Sd.Kfz. 251/3 II - Tank Formations
Sd.Kfz. 251/3 III - Communications with the Luftwaffe
Sd.Kfz. 251/3 IV - Command vehicle (FuG II & FuG 12 Radios)
Sd.Kfz. 251/3 V - Command Vehicle (FuG 12 Radio)
Sd.Kfz. 251/3 - Artillery (FuG 8, FuG 5 & FuG 4 Radios)
In addition, the Luftwaffe used the 251/3 for forward spotting..
As always, my thanks to AFV Club for the 'tasters'
