A few weeks ago, when we ran the story on Zvezda's German Heavy Truck in 1/35th scale, it was necessary to 'wing-it' a bit. Here are more details and images of the sprues...
3596 - Heavy German Cargo Truck L 4500 S This, 256-part, 1/35th scale model will also include two crew figures (a driver and a mechanic).

Thanks to George Keseyan (Reiter960) we're now able to bring the first shots of this subject which is scheduled for release in 2009.

It still remains an INCREDIBLY welcome release, the FIRST of the German 'heavies' in injection-moulded styrene.

This looks promising. This is bound to be a popular model given the subject. I will get one for sure. Thanks for the news update

Indeed, the hoops looks good, fine and in scale but, knowing the habit of Zvezda to pack the frames loose in a relatively soft cardboard boxes, let's wait to see what will happen with them. And are those figures "pictures" 3D-generated or simply my eyes are old and tired? Also, call me dumb but I can't get why a normal 2-axle truck needs so many tires! Are the half of them for load or what?

This looks like it could turn out to be a good quality kit. The possabilities for this kit is many and varied for aftermarket items. Crane truck, AA gun truck, mobile maintance workshop and others unnamed are many. A late war version with maultier running gear and late war cab, or armored cab version could be a great addition to this kit. Zvezda has alot of options out there for making a money maker out of this kit. All they got to do is make sure this base kit is good to excelent. I'll be waiting for a review to see what is thought of this kit. Joe

Looks really good. Nice to see that there doesn't seem to be any sink holes in the loadbed. This is usually a difficult part on a truck kit, large & fairly even thickness except where the structural beams are. The tyres wasn't made of vinyl either :-) / Robin

I just picked this kit up at my local hobby shop, and a first look into the box has got me rather excited. This is a very detailed kit, with complete braking system, engine detail, reasonable cab interior and with very few mould seams to clean up. The two figures look nice, but I will reserve comment until I have assembled them. I'll do a in box review as soon as I can get the pics up and running. Cheers Henk
